Rangers worked all season to get these final games at home. The crowd can be a HUGE factor. Rangers need to come out with energy, hit everything that moves...and hit them HARD. Thats been the single biggest noticeable difference in our game...our hitting has gone to hell. when we do it, they are usually soft. I want to see more Girardi burying Green than love taps on ovechkin. smashmouth hockey. hit, hit, hit. crash the net. make holtbys life miserable. OUTWORK THE OPPOSITION.
Exactly what I've noticed as well.
I always think of the 07 Ducks when I think of Stanley Cup winners. I can't remember a team who hit harder than they did. They pounded the **** out of a very scary Ottawa team. The Sens couldn't do anything. NYR needs to get BIG to WIN.
I have been saying since the Caps started playing the Bruins that Holtby is due for a bad game. Let it be tomorrow.
Game 7 at MSG with the best goalie in the world. I like our chances!

I've been saying this all series long
It looks like he is the real deal and not just a fluke. Time will tell.

Well, Holtby had a bad game in game one of this series. Hopefully it's time for another!
Holtby's girlfriend/wife had a baby yesterday. I am sure he has had time to deal with that. It also makes his life not completely about him anymore. This might be enough of a mental distraction coupled with us actually getting bodies in front to score enough on him.
While he has great composure in net, and rarely gets rattled, he has never been truly tested.
MSG should have a plan going on to interrupt his pre-game routine of standing behind the net, or being on the bench and meditating. Even a simple distraction such as blasting music, or having workers interrupt it in anyway possible is enough to break his superstition and throw off his preparation.
You need every advantage you can get, find them and exploit them to the fullest.
i honestly think we made holtby look better than he actually is. I give him credit he is a good goalie but if our offense actually played decent in this series there wouldnt be a game 7 and we would be focused on the devils
the way i see it, the Rangers have to come out and give 100 percent knowing that winning this game is one step closer to the cup. they can beat any team in this league they just need to get it done. when they lose, it's because they play like **** and not like the team we all know they can be. if they lose tomorrow it's because they didn't want it bad enough.

Or maybe they can kidnap his new baby! That'll show him!

How about we just beat him fair and square, huh?
Red Auerbach used to turn off the air conditioning in the visitors' locker rooms at the old Boston Garden, even when the outside temperature was in the 90's.

Heard that story once.
Any advantage helps, at the end of the day all that matters is that you get the W.

Didn't ovechkin sit in on a rangers practice in 2009? They had to kick him out right? He did that and I think even said some things about it to try and get in the rangers' heads.
His mind could be somewhere else tomorrow night. This is perfect.
It's not that he will be thinking about his new baby, or his wife. He WILL be focused on the game, BUT the sub-concious factor of him saying to himself, "ya know, if we don't win, at least I have my newborn and wife to look forward to coming home too"
That psychological 'doubt' that one would create in their head is enough to almost mentally give up if we get at him early enough. This should be the goal.
