History Will Be Made...Unless New York Wins It All.
Simply put:
Rangers Win - Nothing special, though for the team it will be first title since 94.
Devils Win - Lowest seed to win Championship, also become 8th team with 4 Cups.
Kings Win - Lowest seed to win, also first in team history.
Coyotes Win - First Championship, also become 2nd pro Champion in Arizona history.
Discuss.

I have a feeling whoever comes out of the West will win it.

Nothing special?
How about gutsiest team to ever do it?
Least talented?
Seriously though, we could potentially be looking at first team to ever do it in 4 game 7's, that'd be some story if it came to be.
I know that's the most unlikely one, but it's there. 2 for 2 so far.

Rangers would be the first team ever go to to game 7s in their first two series to win the Cup. There ya go.

Rangers winning is nothing special? They had a LOT to do with the hockey renaissance of the 90's. Go find a retirement home for your team.

Won't the Rangers be the first team to win the Cup after having to go to seven games in each of the first two rounds?

Nothing special? We waited 54 years for our last one. Any cup after that is special.

A simple plan for a simple team: "go myteam go, play a round of go...lf."

While this is more due to parity, you are correct.
The 92 Penguins came the closest, going 7 in round 1 and 6 in round 2 before going on a magnificent undefeated streak to the Championship.
Still, that's not a glaring historical achievement. A team winning it's first title or being the lowest seed and " cinderella " is more memorable, fair or not.

Really, the Kings or the Coyotes winning the Cup will be a significantly huge deal for those franchises, no doubt about it. And big stories on top of that... The Coyotes a franchise never winning a Playoff Round until this Season and a team in the news almost relocated now for two years. The Kings, a first time amazing 8th place team to win the Cup, 14th in the League overall, and never having won the Cup in their 44 year history in the League.

Would be the first team to win the cup that had two Game 7's in the first two rounds.

I called Rangers vs Kings at the beginning of the year (largely due to the fact that after the Oilers they are my two favorite teams and I thought two huge markets would be cool) and I correctly called the finals in 08, 09, and 10. So, I have a chance at doing absolutely nothing of worth.

Rangers have 3 of their 4 cups before World War II ended and there was what, six teams in the league? I'd say it'd be pretty special to that franchise, it would establish them a bit more as a succesful franchise in more modern times.

Don't be discouraged Rangers fans...
2010:
Flyers: Lowest seed to win SC ever, 10th team to win 3 Stanley Cups
Sharks: First Championship ever
Montreal: Lowest seed to win SC ever
Chicago: No big deal, first cup in 40+ years
Stories like these aren't that big of a deal. Same storyline for last year with the Bruins.
