Oh, give me a break. It's actually going to add to the excitement, knowing that it's not always the same teams making the finals.

Oh I agree...my preference is not meant to be good for the league just good for me....I dont want LA or NY to win it although that would be an ideal series for the league and better hockey to watch

The fight that changed hockey

Quote:
It’s the music that makes the mayhem.

From high in the rafters of the Montreal Forum, an organist plays a lovely little number once made popular by polkameister Frankie Yankovic. The song’s unsung lyrics are, “Somewhere my love, there will be songs to sing ...”

Down on the ice, before the start of Game 6 of the Prince of Wales Conference final, there is no love, only clots of anger and ugly welts of violence. Players are fighting. Players are streaming out of their dressing rooms to join in. Chris Nilan of the Montreal Canadiens is battling Dave Brown of the Philadelphia Flyers. Brown isn’t wearing a jersey, shoulder pads or undershirt. Nilan has precious little to hold on to as the two exchange bare-knuckle greeting cards.

Nowhere to be seen as the organist plays on is a referee or linesman. It is a melee that would have made the Flyers’ forefathers – the original Broad Street Bullies – flush with pride. They were the ones who took the game into a dark corner and beat the living daylights out of it, winning two Stanley Cups in the process. But coming only months after a nasty scene between the Boston Bruins and Quebec Nordiques, the pregame brawl in Montreal signals a need for sanity.

It is May 14, 1987; the end of the bench-clearing madness.

Let everything go, then call something like that. Typical refs.

I hate that one of NY or NJ will go to the Finals, but this series ought to be very entertaining. I'm pretty sure both teams have a healthy hatred of each other.

(mod edit: not quite 100% NSFW)

I'd rather be tied to a chair and forced to listen to a combo of Justin Beiber/Nikci Minaj songs while having all my wisdom teeth removed with a knife without any sort of anaesthetic than watch the remaining matchups.

**** all of the remaining teams, especially the western ones. **** Buttman's sunshine state and **** LA.

I don't know about "destroy", they have a pretty good chance at upsetting them though.

Also funny that the Rangers game winner came after Washington blocked a shot that had almost no chance of going in. Lead to Del Zotto cruising in for a follow-up shot with heavy traffic.

This, I think, is a good thing, since players throwing themselves under the puck often feels like the ultimate play, totally stumping the offense. It's good to see the art has not been perfected (yet) to the point that there are no drawbacks to it.

So Rangers and Devils....Devils can upset them but again this will come down to the goalies and Fat boy Brodeur is def the weaker of the two....although didnt matter against us since the devils neutered our offense.

Wow.

Kings dominating and Quick lets one in from centre. Unbelievable.

At this point Im just so apathetic towards the playoffs, I like both western conference teams and I actually think the winner will come out of the west. just get to me to the draft.

He did mishandle the puck, but I thought that was a good forecheck by Phoenix, all 3 forwards were great on that play.
