My biggest worry is we run out of gas if it goes the distance. IMO

-Offensively the Devils have the edge

-Defensively the Rangers have the edge

-Goaltending the Rangers have the edge

Hopefully the fact both our series have went 7 games doesn't become a factor.

Hopefully we win in 4.

Pipe dreams aside, I really don't see how this series goes shorter than 7. Hell the league will make it best of 9 for good measure.

Not even the least bit concerned right now. The biggest test starts Monday, and that's all I'm thinking about.

Don't think about that yet -- We are not there. Have a long series to go still and it's not going to be easy.

Hoping to see Rangers in 6

If this series goes to 7 games (or more) and we end up playing the kings (which will probably go to more then 7 games), and we win, it has to set some kind of record for most games played by a cup winner. So far we're already up to 15

Devils, Rangers, Playoffs, 7 game series, sounds all too familiar.

I can't blame anyone who buys into this, but I'm thinking something else.....

I'm thinking the Rangers might have a much easier time scoring against the Debbies than they did against Wash or Ott. The Debbies are not the tight checking team the Caps or Panthers were. They rely more on their forecheck for success. Philly had no answer to their forecheck, but we do. And I believe that plays right into our strength, attacking off our defense. We will stifle them in our zone, and breakout with alot more oddman rushes than any of the previous 2 series.

Marty will have to stand on his head for this series to reach 7 games.

Devils also have a much better offense than the Capitals or Senators as well. The rangers 2.07 goals a game will not cut it.

I was busy looking for tickets to Game 5 on StubHub that I hadn't noticed the date for a possible Game 7... Holy Feckin' ****!!!

Haven't felt this excited since 6th Grade, did I just stumble into a time warp?!? It was a hot muggy night when Matteau scored, and unfortunately I listened to the Devils feed on WABC back then that I missed Howie Rose's call for the ages on WFAN as it happened...

Yeah, their offense is better, but their D is exploitable, and Uncle Daddy might be the worst goalie we'll see in these playoffs.

Devils don't scare me.

Brodeur and the Devils defense shut down the second most potent offense in the playoffs.

Don't be so sure, remember they played Philly, who couldn't beat us in their last 8 attempts. And Fla defended very well against Marty and Co. and took them 7 games.

I believe the way we handle playing tight low scoring games, will aid us tremendously in frustrating.the Debbies and create more turnovers,... more scoring.

no, they really didn't. The Devils hemmed the Flyers in their own zone the entire game/series. It wasnt about Brodeur and their D, it was about the Devils offense holding the puck, keeping the puck, and forcing turnovers.

That's totally the opposite of Brodeur and the D being all awesome. They werent.....to be fair, they didn't have to.

This is right on point. The Devils rely on their strong forecheck. We do too, but we defend first. Better than anyone in the NHL. Their forecheck will not be the problem it was with Philly. And it could create some wide open hockey for us. More so than we have been seeing.

I don't see this going the distance, but it is a Rangers, Devils playoff match.

Devils fans seem pretty confident. That's okay, I am too. Clarkson is going to a pain in the ass, so we need to force him into stupid penalties.

Rangers in 6.

The Rangers had better batter the Devils relatively immobile D corps, improve their power play, and dominate the faceoffs if they want to receive the Prince of Wales Trophy as their ticket to the Stanley Cup Finals and raise this to the rafters of MSG in the 2012-13 Home Opener:

Clarkson might be the key to the entire series. you figure the rangers know they have to control Parise, Kovalchuk, Henrique, Zajac and Elias...but a guy like Clarkson, playing the way he does, could have a "Chris Neil" type effect on this team.

Rangers just need to play smart.
