In all fairness, after Game 1, this was more an 8 vs. 9 matchup. Even so, good for the Sixers getting that first playoff series win since 2003. But, let's be real, this series was pretty ****ing terrible as far as the quality of basketball went.

It was, but even without Rose, the Bulls are still a very good team. They were like 14-6 without him in the lineup this year.

They lost Noah too, so they weren't even as good as that record was. This still was not a well-played game though

The series win is a hollow farce, but would rather they take care of business than not. After losing both Rose and Noah, to lose the series (if not blowing a 3-1 lead in the process) would have been crushing for a team trying to establish an identity. Even having beaten a diminished opponent, they still won a playoff series, and that's still an accomplishment for a group that's never done it before.

That's right. Advancing to the second round is a great experience for this team. In my opinion they will give the aging boston celtics a run for their money.

It's definitely good for the new owners and the franchise going forward. Hopefully it can build a little momentum and get Philly going as a basketball town once again. If they can start selling tickets and getting attention players might want to actually come here.

Short term though yeah it was a pretty ugly series and Boston is much better than a Noah and Rose less Bulls. Even if by some miracle they squeek by the Celtics it would just be for the privelage of getting smashed by the Heat.

Was torn last night between rooting for Atlanta and the Celtics.

I think the Hawks would've been a better match-up for the Sixers even though they're a pretty good team. Celtics may be old, but they've got experience and a lot of them have a ring.

Tough choice between having a better chance to beat Atlanta, only to get thrashed by the Heat, and playing Boston and re-kindling that rivalry even if it means they lose to Boston instead of getting thrashed by the Heat. Everything else from this point out is gravy to me.

FWIW, 76ers vs. Celtics this season:

3/7: Won 103-71 (home)

3/23: Won 99-86 (home)

4/8: Lost 79-103 (road)

Sixers to set an NBA record tonight with most times shooting themselves in the foot.

Yeah, letting Boston just kill like 4,567,987 seconds at will towards the end was probably ill advised.

ugh, I cant say Im mad after this loss but two things.

1. Andre Igoudal, Kobe Bryant you are not. Stop taking fade away jumpers.
2. Lou Williams killed this team with the stupid shots down the stretch.

All in all, while the 76ers play great defense, they arent good enough offensively to win this series imo.

Yeah, Lou was absolutely brutal in the last 10. Hawes looked great, though. Not mad after this game, just hope they can erase those dumb mistakes they made with possession.

It's been years since I've watched the Sixers steadily, since I'm not much of a basketball fan, but they've got potential. I like it.

Only NBA I've seen in the last couple years is the Wizards when nothing else is on, and compared to that the Sixers are godly god-men.

At one point, I found myself openly wondering whether he was trying to throw the game.

I don't watch a lot of NBA--it is the one major sport that I've just never been enamored with. That said, I've watched enough basketball to know that he consistently made the wrong choice in the final 5-7 minutes.

Why was he handling the ball so much? I know he's the leading scorer coming off the bench, but at some point, you have to make an adjustment.

Meh. Gave that game away. Might have been an interesting series otherwise. Now, I think they lose in 5. Still a good run, but they seem to be lacking the one really big, superstar-caliber piece that wins titles in the NBA.

Williams has the "green light" to shoot apparently.

ugly, ugly game but they eek out a win...1-1 coming back to philly. I must say this team plays really great defense though, but the celtics couldn't shoot through a hoola hoop tonight. good to see them hit their free throws tonight to ice the game.

wow, what an awesome, ugly, come from behind win. never say die attitude tonight. Start of the game down 14-0, shoot 23% in the first half. Down 15 at the half, come back and win by 11. Awesome
