That 2:52 robbery on Malkin is one of the sickest saves I've ever seen!

I could see him going over as a back-up but only if it's going to be a tandem job (at least 30 games)

I dunno, I don't mind being forgotten in this instance. Maybe the GMs will forget too and suddenly discover at the last minute that their "sure things" are getting better offers here in Ohio.

Yes, very much like Backstrom was when he left for NHL. I'd see Vehanen having similar success. So who ever needs Backstrom, get Vehanen for cheaper. He might be better.

Called it.

NHL can't have enough Finnish goalies. Who's next?

But as you said for one of the best goalies out there a gm that has the team to compete or believes he has such a team won't care about down the road if he thinks TT would allow them to win now.
He's also a fitness and yoga guy. Thomas for Kulemin.

Off the top of my head:

Lighting
Leafs
Flyers
Penguins
Wings
Canucks
Wild

I can just see a lot of teams trying to snag him...
Why the Wild?? They have a surplus of NHL caliber goalies with Hackett, Backstrom, and Harding (likely leaving but nonetheless)
Flyers have Bob and Bryz, and it seems like they're sticking with them.

Pretty much this.

Are there even any capable backups who will test free agency this offseason?

I swear to god i recommended this signing last year for the Oilers on a local blog, the guy is seemingly the most dominant goalie outside the NHL.

The article says that the interested teams' 1. goalie plays almost all of the games and is looking for a backup that could play 20-25 games.

Rangers?

A lot of teams with clear cut number 1's and UFA backups.

- Wings
- Wild
- Devils
- Rangers
- Penguins
- Jets

+ The article said that team isn't Anaheim.

Add the Red Wings to that. Conklin is a UFA and it's believed MacDonald will be in Grand Rapids again next year.

Not even #1 on the Finnish team, and 34...not too exciting.

What has age got to do with it? Tim Thomas only started playing in the NHL after the lock out.

Haven't seen much of him, but he's probably better than BJ or Theissen at this point.
