Florida/Chicago

To Florida: Beach, Pirri

To Chicago: Keaton Ellerby, Mike Santorelli

Pretty fair deal for both sides. Thoughts?

No more Florida trades with Chicago. For a couple years at least.

Would rather keep Beach over having Santorelli..but I would do Pirri plus a late pick for Ellerby.

Done and done. I've always liked Ellerby. Pirri hasn't been impressive in his call ups or in Rockford. Beach is a wild card.

Is it fair? I guess.. but I don't really get why Chicago does this. Ellerby is big but not really physical and is there a reason why he only suited up in 1 of 7 playoff games for the Panthers?

Reason being Pirri and Beach will probably never be a long term options in Chicago. Ellerby and Santorelli are out of favor in Florida. Ellerby was a top pick in the draft a few years ago with big size, etc. Santorelli put up 40 something points a year or two ago.

Some were saying Tallon had found his next Sharp. Couldn't hurt to acquire some more cheap/young center depth/defensive depth and find out if we can develop these guys. I don't see there being a big loser or winner on surface.

Tallon loves 'his guys' and it's probably the most realistic trade partner to get some pieces for the abundance of prospects we have.

Why not take advantage of Tallon's man love for Hawks prospects? Not necessarily this deal.

I agree with Swanny. I think the Hawks are done dealing with Dale.

The one exception might be if the Hawks eventually get fed up with Kane and want to move him. Dale would be a prime target if Kane was on the market.

Florida can't provide equal value for Kane. It would have to be a package where we were getting Kulikov++

Right.. except you're not getting any useful pieces in Santorelli or Ellerby.

Santorelli bombed this year after getting new contract and Ellerby struggled to maintain role as #6 on Panthers

He isn't an improvement over Olsen at this point

Hawks basically give up 2 prospects for the Panthers junk ,, Not really close to fair

Pirri was 20 yrs old this year ,, Just saying

And how exactly has he not been impressive in Rockford? Being Hogs best player at 20 yrs old isn't impressive?

I wouldn't call being 10th overall in 07 draft being a top pick a few years ago

And yes Santorelli put up 40+ pts last year ,, Then this year he put up 11 pts and was demoted to 4th line/scratched

Looks like a 1 yr wonder

Wouldn't be opposed to giving Santorelli a chance as our second line center for a throwaway prospect if Kruger's the best we can do in that slot, but I wouldn't give up anything of value for him.

Florida is one of the few teams willing to negotiate with Bo.

Lets not pretend we have inside knowledge to which teams GM's have conversations with Stan on a daily basis.

No way! Beach & Pirri's ceilings are just to high. It's not a horrible proposal but the odds of both Pirri and Beach playing 5 years in Florida are very good.

Ellerby maybe is a Hawk 3-4 years and Santorelli 2 years or less.

They should do it just for the Kane + South Beach potential

I'd rather give Pirri the chance over Krüger than Santorelli

That would not be out of the question. Kulikov ++ would be moved for a 1st line guy like Kane if on the market this off season.

I don't find anything about this proposal necessary or appealing.

We will get screwed with any trade that happens between Hawks and Panthers.

Panthers have GM of the year, Hawks have an accountant. Take a guess who will get owned in the trade [hint: it's the guy who is only in his position because of his dad]

I'll make the Frolik/Salak for Skille/spare parts trade again any day of the week. I'd also dump Campbell to Florida again, even with knowing how badly we missed him at times this season.

Dale's loyalty to "his guys" has and will continue to do him in. Tell me how Florida looks in 3 years with all those awful contracts he gave out/took on.
