Regarding the Isles/Devils preseason game, does it make sense to buy from ticketmaster now, or do we think stubhub/etc will be selling tix for pennies? I can't wrap my head around whether or not this will be a big draw (new arena, excited isles fans, devils fans for experience, etc, -- or just a preseason game with an odd hockey configuration/layout)
Jeb?

Slope resident here as well.

There are a few others I know around here too.

If we are staying around here I would recommend Pacific Standard as they have a big screen, couches, good beer and have been showing most other playoff games.

I'm open to downtown or Williamsburg as well though.

I have seen a TON of people wearing Devils gear on the UWS the last few weeks. So many, that it's honestly not that materially different from the number of people I see wearing Rangers stuff.

I'd also be down for a Manhattan based Devils "viewing party" for Game 2 if we can get 10 or 15 folks rounded up.

And if enough people from NJ are interested in coming, we could have it someplace easily accessible from the 1-train from Penn Station since they'd be taking NJTRANSIT. Either that Flight place mentioned a few posts back in Chelsea or Blondies on W.79/Broadway would work (either one of those are < 10 minutes from Penn).

Yeah I like the idea of going to the bar with the Devils fan owner that was mentioned. If we show up in gear and there's like ten of us, we'll probably end up with a free shot or two as well.

I'm over in Westerleigh. I went to Chili's on Richmond for a bite to eat before one of the Florida games and there were a few Devils fans there, was kind of surprised.

In regards to meeting up in Manhattan - I am definitely still down to take over a bar and I will have 2 Devils fans with me.

I like the idea too - so Flight 151 for Wednesday's game? Maybe the poster that knows the owner can give him a heads up and an estimate of how many of us will be showing up.

I could probably stick around the City after work to watch the game somewhere. Post up some details when you guys figure it out and I'm there.

That's not far from my place, maybe he's one of the people I've seen in Devils clothes lately.

If we can get a decent sized crew together I'd be up for that (assuming this bar does put the game volume on, that's KEY).

Agreed that is key. I will have 3-5 Devs fans with me and it sounds like there are a few others on here that are interested so we should be able to get a nice turnout.

SatanicTerrier - do you know if they would have the sound on for the game and would you be able to set it up with the head bartender?

Flight 151, I'm in (as long as the sound's on)! I usually manage to wrangle together 7-8 people when I watch games in the city and so far, the lot of us are 3-for-3 when watching at a bar in NYC (The Flying puck, previously, no less)..

I'd get them from TicketMaster now. 7000 tickets sold the first 2 weeks.

So, to recap some of the recommendations....
  • Standings (above Jimmy's 43 on 7th st)
  • Josie Woods (by NYU)
  • Flying Puck (by MSG)
  • Blondies (on the UWS)
  • Suspenders (down on Broadway, near Trinity Church)
  • Kelly's (on A b/t Houston and 1st)
  • Flight 151 (on 8th Ave, b/w 17th and 18th)
  • Third & Long (on 35th and 3rd)

I am comfortable with any of these. Let's decide soon, so we can plan to meet on Wednesday for Game 2.

I recommended Josie's, but this week is NYU's graduation. That place will be a madhouse until next week.

And Third & Long is a blue collar Rangers bar, it should most definitely be stricken from the selections.

I'm easy: Island of Manhattan + game sound on + numerous TVs = I'm there.

Yeah same here... Just remembered I can't make it out and about tonight, but if we organize for Wednesday's game, maybe we can get a good showing!

Dudes! I'll talk to Steve from Flight 151 and see if he'll be bartending, and if the sound will be on. Will let y'all know ASAP.

OK so Steve will not be bartending that night but he is going to talk to Roy, the owner, about putting the audio on. He said taking a roll call here of people who will be coming and getting an estimated number would guarantee our chances for the audio.

So...

WHOOOOOOOOO is coming to Flight 151 Wednesday night for Game 2 of the EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS?!?!?
