NEWS & NOTES

QUOTES TO NOTE

I think itís another step. Itís a new group of guys. Guys are in and out each year so itís hard to compare year to year but itís another step for us.
Itís another round and now we have to answer the challenge against New Jersey.
- Ryan Callahan

We play Monday and itís a quick turnaround so we have to make sure weíre ready for that.
Itís an incredible feeling to get another one and be there and have the opportunity for sure.
- Marc Staal

Weíre still in the middle of the process of the Rangers trying to become one of the elite teams, but this is a tremendous experience for us.
This is where your legacy is made, in the playoffs. It will be interesting to see where it goes.
- John Tortorella

Go out blazing, win this series in 4 games and rest some tired legs...

For this game we need to screen the goalie and protect the king...

Sticks down and heads up...

shot high, hard, smart and often at the net and good things will happen...

It would be nice if, for once, we won the first two home games. Maybe we wouldn't have to go to Game 7 if we did.

My god, have you seen the Devils GDT?

No franchise with more immature fans.

This team hates leads more then 1 goal.

The last time we had a 2 goal lead they gave up a goal after less then a minute, after successfully protecting a 1-0 lead for 2 and a half periods.

I expect us to win this series, but have zero expectation of winning by more then 1 or 2 goals (with 2 goals being a RARE case)

I was going to comment on how classless that thread is, but I dont think they would recognize it, and would think I am just jealous of their greatness.

This team is allergic to not only greater than 1 goal leads in games, but also more than 1 game leads in a series.

Time to change that! This will be a tough game with the quick turnaround, especially considering how exhausting the caps series was. Make it impossible for the Devils to gain solid scoring chances and get pucks and traffic towards Marty and the Rangers will win.

Every Devils fan in their GDT reminds me of the 4chan browsing idiot 16 year old version of myself. Obnoxious. What an inferiority complex some of them have.

This is why I stay here, where i'll watch us put this team away and go on to the Finals.

LGR!

Very amusing, thanks for the tip. The "New York City is overrated" posts are charming, too.

Gonna be another long sweat it out, heart-attack inducing series. Wish they could bring back good old #16 for this one, but we can't always get what we want. LGR!!!

this win is probably the most important of the series (other than the one that sends us into the next round). LGR!

When all are healthy would like to see:

Hagelin - Richards - Gaborik
Kreider - Stepan - Callahan
Dubinsky - Boyle - Fedotenko/Anisimov
Anisimov/Fedotenko - Rupp - Zuccarello/Prust ( depending on physicallity of series)

PP 1
Zuccarello - Stepan - Gaborik
Stralman - Richards

Pp 2
Kreider - Anisimov - Callahan
Staal - MDZ

I think this could fix our PP woes... And play the number 2 unit more often/faster especially if things are not working out with the number one line (as has not been the case previously). Stop employing 5 on 5 grinder dump and chase tactics with a man advantage - let the creativity flow and release the hemmed up mountains of hockey sense wanting to be released when up one man !!! Dammit!

Any Rangers fans in Philly? Brand new to the area (by University City) and I don't have cable, sooo I'm going to be on a mission to find somewhere to watch it other than on a stream

I want to be surprised. Some of their fans are perfectly fine, but the majority seem to hate our team more than they like their own.

It's sinking in that we're in the Conference Finals. Feels so great. Let's get off to a good start against a rested group.

Another early morning following this via the net, hitting 'refresh' every 20 seconds.

Need to really set the tone with this game.

Get it done!

Not taking anything away from the Devils and how they are playing, but I think this might be the best chance the Rangers have had to get to the finals since I don't even know when.
