Probably the first "bad" goal Quick's allowed all playoffs, too. He shouldn't have any problems going forward.

Why did OP feel it necessary to add "NHL player" as a prefix to Derek Morris?

NHL goalie Quick pulls an NHL goalie Cloutier aka NHL player Derek Morris scores an NHL goal from the NHL center ice...?

Since Quick won the game, does that mean he pulled an Osgood?

I disagree. The thread was created to discuss the weak goal. He discussed it and said it shouldn't/didn't shake Quick's confidence.

He was clearly on point.

It turns out that the puck did skip. Watch it closely and you can see that it skips before it reaches the blue line.

Sorry for the poor quality of the GIF. I didn't want to spend too much time on it and didn't want it to be too large.

The original video is below. Skip ahead to 0:20.

I was shaking my head along with everyone else at the time, but, seeing this, I may've been too hard on Quick. It's probably still a goal that he should have had, but it's not quite as horrible as it seemed at first.

The key difference being Cloutier (and the Nucks) went on to lose 4 straight games after that goal happened.

The Kings still won this game.

This one was far worse. It was from way farther out due to international ice and the go ahead goal against Belarus of all teams.

Quick was ridiculous last year as well, and his save percentage has gone up .02 every season he's played.

Since they won, I would file that goal under light folly instead fatal blunder.

Every goalie has had one like that happen to them.

Sometimes it's the shots that come from places you don't expect the player to shoot from.

It's happened to Quick before, anyway. He does that sometimes. He likes to sleep, like bear.

Actually, no. Quick's was worse. He had track of the puck, Salo didn't, he lost it in the dark stands. Nabokov almost did the exact same Salo did, in the same tournament, he also lost the puck because of the again very dark stands. That arena was terrible. Nabokov had the fortune of the puck missing the net with inches, while Salo wasn't as fortunate.

Salo didn't lose his confidence because of the goal, he lost it because of the beheading of him in the Swedish media and that they made him the sole scapegoat for an entire underperforming team.
