I know a couple of posters on this board have had our run-ins with the devils board (myself and Jonathan namely, I'm sure others have as well) but in consensus, they have to be one of the most moronic fanbases out there. Washington and Pittsburgh I expect blatant stupidity out of because 95% of their fans don't know that hockey even existed pre-lockout, Jersey just has no excuse. Aside from my Devil fan friends who are as diehard as they come, the general population among their fanbase wouldn't know left wing lock from neutral zone trap if it smashed them in the face with an Easton Mako.

I didn't even read their GDT, and nor will I subject myself to that kind of idiocy, but here's some advice. Just back off. They can start all the **** in the world and get away with it because certain powers that be allow them to, and you'll get in trouble for everything.

Devils urging their fans not to sell to Rangers fans... this is elementary **** you'd expect to see from fans on a message board, not from the higher ups at an organization! Ha

I'm almost positive that it's "never won the cup" not "never won the conf. finals". That's what I heard on NHLN.

just shows you the organization has no faith in their "fans" to buy tickets and they know there is going to be TONS of blue in the building

Funny then that the Devils themselves are worried about Ranger fans flooding the Rock...

The Rangers handled the Flyers all year long.
The vast majority of people I saw picked the Rangers to win.

I chose the Devils to win this in 6, but I've been wrong on both these teams pretty much the entire way. I took Devils in 6 over Florida, Flyers in 6 over Devils, Sens in 7 over Rangers, and Caps in 7 over Rangers. I'm batting 1 for 4.

You're technically correct on the first point, but for a relationship to hold, tails have to to start coming out, that's all I was getting at. But like I said, I actually dont think there' much to it give how many teams have won the Stanley cup playing 13 games in the first two rounds. I have a hard time believing that if all of those teams played a 14th game it would have prevented them from winning a cup.

I'd like to see a reverse statistic for the hell of it, and see how many teams playing 8-10 games in the first 2 rounds won/didnt win the cup.

Insecurity from the top down.

I saw on twitter someone suggested a count down to 9 minutes followed by a "sign parise" chant. I didn't know whether to or lol.

I completely agree with you on that point. I only disagree with you saying its "probably more likely" given that it's 0-38.

Just a heads up..they did this against the Flyers as well. Don't think your team is special.

Great points and I'll add one more before I make some other comments.

also have problems with teams that crash the net, something the Debbies do very well...this will go 6 or 7 unless one team implodes. This is the playoffs, the 4 best teams are still standing there will be no easy games...I don't think the Devils are as bad as they seemed playing against the Panthers or as good as they seem playing against Philthy.

But really how do we beat them?

Kovy is the best talent on either team
Marty is a HOF'er
Larsson will be a Norris winner next year
Henrik is only good because of the size of his pads
Torts is a terrible coach
The Rangers only got here because of luck and the NHL
How will the Rangers last even 4 games

Really? Take the glasses off..there were not that many. If there were 1,000 for Game 1 and maybe 1,500 for Game 2, that's about it. They sat in packs and do I need to post pictures?

And for the people that say oh, 60-40..you realize that 40% of 17,625 is over 7,000 people? That's not going to happen.

Funniest. Thing. I've. Ever. Heard.
Stranger things have happened, I doubt in 94 anyone would have claimed Matteau was key to that series, but 2 OT winners in 7 games....

Yeah. And Philly is further away than NY is. So there will be more blue.

And how cute. The Devils have posted it on FB, made an announcement on their website, and have even designated a specia
Hashtag to use on Twitter. Someone's a little nervous over there.

It's not even that NY is closer than Philly. The Mickey Mouse team moved to New Jersey in 1982. Rangers have been around forever. Northern Jersey is full of blue. New Jersey Ranger fans and Ranger fans from NY will invade the Pebble.

We made a special hashtag for the Flyers as well. Again, don't think your team is special.
