NO OTHER TEAM has gone 54 years between Cups. If you want to include expansion franchises like the Kings/Blues/etc. that's still a 40-year drought or so. Our own franchise here in Ottawa has "only" been waiting for 20 or so years...

If it's a Kings/Rangers Final, we'll either see an 8 seed beat a 1, 2, 3, then 1 seed, or a 1 seed beat an 8, 7, 6, then 8 seed. I doubt either of those has happened before.
What would be even stranger would be if that happened with the Kings Sweeping Phoenix, and The rangers going to another game 7.
The team that had the hardest road to the Cup final's will have had an easier time doing it then the team with the easiest road possible. At least by seeds that is, I am not saying at all that the Caps, Senators and Devils are bad teams
