Why don't you go post it on the main board and join the crowd of Marty haters. Really? people, players, coaches, say many things in the heat of competition to fire up their own team or the situation. I'm Done with this LGD!!!

Bit late to the party but I support Marty all the way. It's something I'd like to see actually. Make them pay.

I think that's when Clarkson got the 10 minute misconduct for getting chirped at (and for being an idiot throughout the entire game) during the anemic 2-0 snoozefest of a game that they lost

With the puck possession that the Devils had tonight, the goals will come.

No, it isn't looking for moral victories. I really don't see what there's to be confused about here? This has absolutely nothing to do with "moral victories" unless you're confusing what that actually means.

It's all about analyzing our future play and deciding what changes we need to make. Frankly we simply don't need big changes - some minor tweaks, but nothing major.

I'll have to disagree with you about Game 2 as well. It is do or die. If NJ loses Game 2, it basically requires them to win four straight, or go to a Game 7 at MSG where the Rangers are undefeated. I don't know if anyone is capable of beating the Rangers four times in a row.
Rangers being undefeated at MSG in game 7's is not a meangingful stat, at all. If this goes to game 7, it will be a complete toss-up. We don't need to win 4 in a row if we lose game 2. Now yes our chances look grim if we fall down 2-0, but 2-0 comebacks are more common in hockey than any other sport. Series won't be over.

And in any case, that's a what-if. We aren't down 2-0. We are down 1-0. Anything thinking our effort was poor didn't watch the game, and anyone thinking we need to make major changes it overreacting massively. If we keep things fairly status quo, this will be a back and forth series.

I don't know about bull****, but I do think the first goal was worse than the second. Second was one hell of an accurate snipe by Kreider. Plus it was a giveaway. I agree Marty's positioning was not the best on the first goal. It was a screen, but Marty still should have been positioned better.

But of course, Marty played very well and is not why we lost.

OK - WHY do I keep seeing bring this up on these forums? Have people actually watched the vids of that...? Fans did *not* cheer because he was hurt, they cheered when he got up and apparently looked OK (he wasn't OK obviously, but at the time he was able to leave the ice on his own). I don't understand why people keep bringing this up as a classless act by the fans - it wasn't, it was your completely standard "cheer if injured player gets up" cheer. But I've seen so many people bring this up as a classless cheer. Utterly dumbfouding I guess it's one of those things where one member posts something completely wrong, but then others run with it without ever bothering to look at it for themselves.

Just need the finish. Lundqvist had a couple robberies tonight, but we need to have better finish.

I've calmed down now. Can't say I'm really mad anymore. Playoffs are all about adjustments. Devils will need to make some for game 2 and they have shown that they are a capable team when it comes to making the proper adjustments.

Oh and lmao about comparing this Rangers team to the pre-lockout Devils. Please, never insult the Devils that way again. This Rangers team is BRUTAL (in Al Tarutwig's voice) on the eyes. Again, wtf kind of hockey is this? It should be illegal for teams to win when they spend that much time in their own end. Sad thing is that when it was tied after 2, I knew NJ was playing right into their ****ing hands.

Yeah that's what I remembered too. The most classless act I ever saw from Devil fans was cheering when WEEKES got hurt and Marty had to come in for him, that was 'clearly' a thank god he's out of the game cheer.

jesus f'ing crackers

there is a HUGE difference between shooting AT someone's face to intentionally injure and saying you hope they pay the price for blocking your shots.

get real or get out.

Just got back from MSG. Demoralizing third but have to give the rangers credit. They rope a doped us. I was scared of this coming into the series. Sustained offensive zone pressure that doesn't yield to any fruit which wears us out in the end.

We need to finish on our breakaways especially. Rags aren't going to get any more rested so I can imagine we will have more chances alone with Hank. Those pucks need to see the back of the net.

Does it make me a bad person for cheering when Stepan was writhing in pain after diving on Kovy's slapshot???? It's kind of like watching someone trying to ride a rhino. It's not smart.

I believe we were one of the highest shots for team in the playoffs, and definitely had the most per game out of any team still left. In the season were like top 5 worst.

I don't expect the most against the Rangers, but we need more than 21. In the regular season we usually had more than that against these guys except our regular season shutout at the hands of them which was something like 13-14 shots?

I'm not taking anything away from Henrik as he made some great saves tonight, but I'm not convinced 21 of these even went on goal. When Parise took like 3 shots there shorthanded I think Lundqvist got the first shot. The next 2 were stopped by Stralman, and the other bozo next to Lundqvist whoever it was. Those counted as shots on goal, and Doc kept saying save by Lundqvist, and another save!
