Does that answer all your questions?

You understand what I mean though, a few years ago, who even knew Dan Girardi existed.... and when you watched a Rangers game you didn't even notice him out there...is he a product of Torts perhaps?

He has been one of our best D-men pretty much every year since coming to the Rangers (under Renney too). He used to be very inconsistent. He improved on that this year.

Girardi's been good since he came up back in the Jagr years. Obviously got better and more consistent over time. If you watched the Rangers he wasn't really a mystery.

I will be honest, after he watched Carcillo pummel Gaborik I wanted him gone. I was not happy that he did nothing in that spot and voice my opinion of that.

He redeemed himself in my eyes by defending a teammate the following season, but I still had a major problem with the mistake he made (and admitted he made a mistake) in the Gabby/Carcillo situation.

Since that season of redemption, he has been as good as Staal and has been a MAJOR contributing factor in McDonagh's growth as a defenceman.

He's been playing like that 15 year grizzled vet that alot of teams have as they navigate deep into the PO's.

Dan Girardi is a guy that has forced me to eat alot of crow.

Girardi has been solid since day one. He had one rocky season, but otherwise he's always been solid. He's 28 years old and is hitting his prime, that's all.

Still odd to me that he wasn't drafted. I get that he doesn't have a stand out skill or anything, but from what I've read, he was still a steady and poised player back in junior. And it's not like nobody would've seen him play considering he was on that steamroller London Knights championship team (and, according to the Rangers scout who pushed to sign him, was the guy matched up on Crosby in the final series).

Some factors played into Dan development, He was only in his second season on the year you recall, he was still growing as a player. Even after Torts took over he didn't shine as much as he is now.
The real benefit I see to Dan's game was Staal being out most of this season, Id like to think he said something in his head like, I'm the most veteran guy on the D corps now and need to set an example and he stepped up. Being paired with McD also helped him out also, the kids a superstar.

I feel like he was overshadowed by Staal until this season...when there was not Staal until January.

Everyone who followed the Rangers knew he existed because he's always been a top 4 D man.

He played that postseason with a broken hand, as well. Crazy *******, that one is.

Are you being serious or is this another thread to troll the Rangers?

It's usually the offensive dmen that get all the media attention that will have fans of other teams notice your player.

He is a great stay at home, shutdown dman. He's a true warrior. I hope he's a Ranger for life.

Nah, he's just continued to develop into a very solid defenseman.

With Marc Staal out at the beginning of the year he was asked to step up and fill a defensive void for us which he did very well, along with Ryan McDonagh.

WTF kind of question is this? For ***** sake this board gets dumber and dumber with each passing day.

The answer to this question is anyone who follows the game closely. If you named a player and asked me what team he played on, I'd certainly be able to answer. As would most NHL fans, I'd hope.

You sir need to get the **** off this board and start actually paying attention to the games.
