This Years Hugh Jessiman

For those of you who dont know Hugh Jessiman is a right winger who was drafted in '03. He was suppose to be great going 12th overall in his draft but to this day he has less than 10 nhl games played and his highest scoring ahl season was 42 points. Just tell me who you think the biggest bust will be.

Judging by HFBorads, it's got to be whoever the Leafs pick

Wouldn't we have to know where the prospect gets drafted before we can make comparisons like this?

I think Grigorenko will have an OK career, a little confused as to why you listed Forsberg. Even if he doesn't reach his full potential I think he works hard enough and brings enough to the table to be a bottom six player. I'm thinking Tom Wilson, he's totally a projection pick. His potential is a power foward like Jessiman but there are concerns about him playing at the next level.

I think Henrik Samuelsson of the Oil Kings will get picked higher than he should actually go.

One of the Swedes like Åberg or Collberg could possibly go their whole career without touching NHL ice.

I doubt it's Collberg. Kid is fantastic, IMO.

Players that come to mind for me are ... Pouliot, Athanasiou, Di Giuseppe and Aberg. Just feel that they won't be able to take their game to the next level.

Hugh Jessiman is who you think of when you think of Bust? I can think of a couple more recent ones that went much earlier...

The Calgary Flames are proud to select Zemgus Girgensons. You're avatar becomes relevant again

If he goes before the Oilers second round pick then I would agree with you. I really hope he does well but his skating and passing worry me for NHL levels. Toughness and physical domination will never be a problem for this kid.

Pouliot is the guy for me (and to a lesser extent Filip Forsberg). I don't know why he is getting so much attention to warrant a potential top 12 pick and is a better looking prospect than guys like Rielly, Reinhart, Matta or even Schmaltz, Ebert and McIvor.

I just think there a ton of mixed reviews on him and I am one of the ones that doesn't really see a ton of upside with him. I watched a ton of Oil Kings games, especially in the playoffs, and rarely did he ever jump out at me or take over even a portion of the game.

I just don't think he'll ever be a good enough offensive player to warrant being a top 60 pick.

Agreed.

He is not a top 2 lines NHL player.

He will be hard pressed to carve out a career as a 3rd liner, I think THN's draft preview had it right (if thats where I read it) when they said if his name was Smith, nobody would think much of him.

I was thinking just a lil' higher in terms of bust potential. Some of the guys listed would be forgotten pretty quickly if they didn't pan out.

IMO, the most overrated player in the draft...

Pros...
#1 OHL draft
Skated with Yakupov rookie season, did well (who wouldn't?)
Great shot, I'll give him that.

Cons
Torn ACL
Missed entire draft year season
Lackluster for return in the playoffs (-6)
Slow feet
Defensively average--not sure whose preaching otherwise, but PAAAALLEEAASE...
Hasn't taken his first suspendable hit...
Floats an awful lot
Yakupov is leaving Sarnia...\

We'll see what happens, I'm predicting Galchenyuk is a bust.

My thoughts too.

In seriousness, unless its the highly unlikely Murray, he should go back, to avoid the saviour/weight of the
world sentiment.

Good for Kadri though.

That should all be attributed to torn ACL. You can't just come back from a torn ACL. Its a transitional period.

Bolded is the first time I see that. He's probably the most accomplished 2-way forward of this year's draft.

As for the rest, you could have stopped at 'Torn ACL', says it all.
