I'm surprised no one brought up the fact that if players' 100mph slapshots were accurate enough to purposely hit faces, they'd be filling the top corners instead.
There is NO reason to defend this comment. It's one thing to get injured by accidental play. And players go into these games full well what the risks are, however to make a comment that hitting someone in the head with intent to injure/hurt them is just beyond stupid.

Now if a Ranger player takes a puck up high or it looks like a Devil is intentionally trying to shoot at a Ranger what kind of fallout can be expected? I could see the series get completely out of control.
He may very well be one of the greatest goalies ever, but he has always been arrogant. I remember when Lundqvist first came into the league and started beating the Devil's after years of the Devils destroying the Rangers and Marty acted like he didn't even know who Henrik was.
Lastly, it is amazing that he hasn't hurt himself over the years with those violent flops after someone goes near him. It always looks like he was shot in the stomach.
Why is it classless? The Rangers are blocking a ton of shots. If I was a coaching against the Rangers - I'd 100% be telling guys to be "shooting to hurt". Pretty simple that you need to make guys not want to block shots.
