If its Dean, its basically George as coach.

Heck, add McPhee's name to the list. Didn't he pinch hit behind the bench before?

No NHL experience, check. Will probably be forever indebted so I can run the team, check. Former Capital, check. Makes me look taller, check.

True or false.

There will be an actual hiring process for a new coach.

It should be noted that in Vogel's end-season '30 thoughts' column, he said Dean Evason was a good man and should be considered. So the twitter business could very well just be his opinion.

How many coaches that have won a cup managed to do so again with a different team?

If it's someone in house, our window closes for the forseeable future.

Not seeing how Evason gets the gig. The team needs a new direction, they won't get it with Evason.

You assume McPhee believes they need a new direction. To assume makes an ass of u and me...

I think it should be 1. Hartley 2. Maurice 3. Crawford 4. Wilson... I'd much prefer a coach with prior NHL experience. If its JJ or Evason it's a complete joke.

This made me laugh.

I would like to think Mr. Leonsis will want to try someone with some NHL head-coaching experience at this point, regardless of what Mr. McPhee has to say about it.

Can someone explain MacTavish being a good choice?

He made a miracle run one year?

I would much rather have JJ as the head coach than Evason.

If Evason gets hired are there still people saying GMGM shouldn't have been fired on the spot at the deadline?

It will probably be Evason. He has lasted through 3 head coaches now? GMGM must love the guy.

I won't go so far as to say "I'll quit following the team" because almost nothing could make me do that, but hiring Ron Wilson would bring me damn close.

I understand where people are coming from with Evason as well.

A lot should have been done differently in hindsight but I think there's very little chance GMGM alone is making the next coaching hire.

And, again, those above him are probably even more clueless.
