To be honest,
I can see Burke going after a few guys this offseason:

1-Brown (Probably will not ever happen)
so he will go to
2-Dubinsky (and keep Kulemin somehow too)
3-Dwight King (big, fighter, and can score)

Yep..

I could easily see that happening between and him and brown that'd be nasty

Brown I'd love but it won't happen.

Dubi isn't the type of player we need

King doesn't help our top 6

While I'd be hesitant at first, this makes sense. VAN desperately needs grit, and Ashton brings it. I'd do this trade in a heart beat. However, would VAN rather have Schenn than Gunnarrson? Gunnarrson is more reliable defensively.
If AK were used in a Top 6 role with PP time, he produces (like in Nashville) but in MTL he was used on the 3rd line with virtually no PP time. He does need to grow the frig up though.

I would like to see MTL sign him back in UFA season (especially if the other choice is Semin)

To Anaheim:
John-Michael Liles
Tyler Biggs
Clarke MacArthur
Nazem Kadri
2012 2nd round pick
2012 1st round pick

To Toronto:
Ryan Getzlaf
Rights to Justin Schultz

To Toronto:
Roberto Luongo
Mason Raymond

To Vancouver:
Mike Komisarek
Carl Gunnarsson
James Reimer
Jesse Blacker
2012 3rd round pick

To Toronto:
Brandon Dubinsky
2012 2nd round pick

To New York Rangers:
Nikolai Kulemin
2013 3rd round pick

To Toronto:
Derrick Brassard
3rd round pick

To Columbus:
Steckel
Stuart Percy
Holzer

To Toronto:
4th round pick

To FLA:
Tim Connolly

Sign:
Travis Moen
Ryan Suter
Matt Carle

Sure, I'll take a young, inexperienced defense. But one that has a 2 way game. Talking about 2 way game, like the forwards? Obviously most of these trades would never happen. Whats your thoughts?

Final Roster:

Joffrey Lupul / Ryan Getzlaf / Phil Kessel
Mason Raymond / Mikhail Grabovski / Matt Frattin
Brandon Dubinsky / Derick Brassard / Travis Moen
Matthew Lombardi / Mike Zigomanis / Mike Brown

Ryan Suter / Dion Phaneuf
Jake Gardiner / Justin Schultz
Cody Franson / Matt Carle

Roberto Luongo/ Ben Scrivens

Not realistic?
that's the only part that made any sense in that whole thing... i see only 9 players who are actually a Leaf at the moment and i See you made these trades in you NHL 12 with SALARY CAP TURNED OFF... did anyone do the math on this yet, I'm guessing around $90 mill

Actually no. Leafs have $5million left over. According to CapGeek at least. Give Suter his $2million raise, and they've got $3 million left still.

Well Leafs are not gonna get rid of LACK easily. Especially when they have negative values right now

Also, they must have expected the cap to go up to 69m or something, because I was just bored enough to do it and I did purposefully not give any of the UFAs or RFAs raises (not Suter, not Carle, not even any of TOs own RFAs) and signed Schultz at 800,000 and I only had 1.5m left with the cap the same.

Joffrey Lupul 4.25 / Ryan Getzlaf 5.325 / Phil Kessel 5.4
Mason Raymond 2.55 / Mikhail Grabovski 5.5 / Matt Frattin RFA so lets say he signs for 1.5
Brandon Dubinsky 4.2 / Derick Brassard 3.2 / Travis Moen UFA lets say 1.5 like Frattin
Matthew Lombardi 3.5 / Mike Zigomanis 0.65 / Mike Brown 0.738

Ryan Suter UFA will sign for 6 at the very least / Dion Phaneuf 6.5
Jake Gardiner 1.116 / Justin Schultz lets say he signs on for 0.95 maximum.
Cody Franson RFA will sign for 1 / Matt Carle UFA will ask for 5 Burke will give 4.75

Roberto Luongo 5.33 / Ben Scrivens RFA Burke likes this kid so he'll give a million to him.

add it up we get….

38.313 in forwards
20.316 in Defense
and 6.33 in Goaltending
64.959

Yes the Leafs are under the salary cap.. for now, Gardiner will get 4+ when he gets a new contract in two years, and Schultz will sign for atlas 4 maybe 5 depending on what he does stats wise… you're looking at about $80million in 3 seasons, and thats not factoring Getzlaf demanding an additional million after next year….

plus this all only works because you put Zigomanis and Brown on the forth line, those two are never going to be in the NHL again…

NHL 12 retooling and real NHL retooling is totally different, the Leafs should stick with what they got, I don't think there is a need for a goalie, sure Gust is gone for sure, and Optimus Riem had an terrible rebound after his injury, thats typical… just stay as you are, as a leafs hater i will admit i like the the look of this team as they are, theres no need to blow it up for Luongo, he may make your contenders for a little while, but he's got maybe 8 years, after that what prospect will you have, Schenn will be the Canucks top shut down defence and Colborne or Gardiner or whatever else is needed to be added will be the Canucks stars…. just stay as you are Burke and use your draft picks

Still no motivation for us to do this. Again, we need more offense, not less.
