Why yes, I'd love to trade you the NHL scoring champ for a drunken frat boy coming off a 66 point season plus a prospect.

What a thoughtful proposal that perfectly addresses the needs of my team.

Leddy is horrible, a liability on defense and a master of the secondary assist. He also has a problem for allowing other teams to score when he is on the ice, undersized, a weakling, and can get pushed off the puck like he is getting a Jedi hand push with very little effort.

Morin hasnt been the same player since his concussion. Which scrambled his brain to the point that I highly doubt he will ever regain what he was before it, which was a prospective second line scorer.

After having a pretty good season in the AHL, you believe that Morin, at 21, is now conclusively damaged goods? His play style has changed a bit but we're still talking about a 21 year old with a ton of talent, who's ranked 3rd on the Hawks prospect list.

Leddy is 21 years old and just put up 37 points in the NHL! I guess it's a crime that he's not beyond the standard rate defensemen mature at the NHL level. Sorry he's no OEL or Pietrangelo.

Someone had the idea of a Kane for Malkin swap in the Kane thread. I'd like to see what Pens think of this deal. As a Hawks fan, I do not want to trade Kane. And, I wouldn't even trade Malkin but if they did, this is very good value. You get a young star playmaking winger and our best prospect who is also a local kid.
Maybe you have forgotten, but Pittsburgh had the chance to draft Saad, and passed... just like all the other teams in the first round, so with that in mind, this trade essentially becomes Malkin for Kane, which is ridiculous.

To get Malkin, you'd have to give Kane, Hossa, + top prospect, + pick. Sound like an overpayment? Yea, bc that's the only way Malkin would be traded. This is a 2 time art ross, 1x Conn Smythe, top 2-3 player in the world.

Staal for Kane would be much more appropriate, if you ask me.

lol why would you even say this seeing that the Hawks have had a SC parade more recently than the Pens?

Nick Leddy is a throw in now? Not saying that's a good trade, but NIck Leddy is a very good young defenseman.

Having seen him play personaly in Rockford, Yeah, he is damaged goods. He tried way too hard to impress with a tougher game then he actually plays, and didnt have as good a season as you obviously would like to believe. Defensively, he is horrible, and thats being generous. He shyed away from the boards and was non existant many, many games in a row, then the light turned on and he was decent for a game or two. He was never out there in important situations and isnt the best skater in the world, and will never be. He is a second line scorer, and if there isnt room for that on the Hawks, he wont fit on any other line. And who cares where he is on somebody's opinionated prospect list? Like that matters when? Andrew Shaw was a stud at Rockford and wasnt high on anybodys list last time I checked.

Then he shouldnt be on a team with a Cup window. The only reason he isnt in Rockford working on his defense is because he would be exposed quicker in a league thats a little bit tougher then the sissification that is the NHL. Oh, I remember like it was yesterday when Leddy was pushed around and smacked upside his dome in his short stint while in the Rock. He wasnt anything special then and was rushed to the NHL because he couldnt take the rough stuff. Not that the NHL didnt catch on. I mean, how many goals were given up while he was on the ice last year? 37 points mean very little when you are giving Keith and Seabrook a breather. Mercy points are just that.

Jesus, I've already apologized for being mean to Nick Leddy, but young aspiring defenders are seriously the last thing Pens need, they have plenty of those already.

So you are saying you wouldn't trade Toews for Crosby?

No. I'm saying Toews is extremely touchable, a stud, full of class, and other various HFisms. That's all.

21 year old with 37 points is just getting them out of "mercy". Whatever you say chief. Leddy's a really good offensive defenseman. I agree his defense needs to get better but it's not as bad as you're indicating. He played 22 minutes a night in the NHL.

I wouldn't trade Toews for Crosby,

Toews will be a Blackhawk forever, he excels at every facet of the game and was on a good pace if not injured last year.

Toews is untouchable, the GM would not trade him for any player
