I am waiting for the day for the media to troll him after a Ranger win. ask questions for like a minute, all get up and leave.

C'mon, you guys. You'd all love Torts to be our coach. Him stiffing our media would be worth it alone.

Police: No charges against Patrick Kane after party weekend

Dude looks like he's got progeria disease....

Blackhawks star Patrick Kane appears to have avoided any legal entanglements after his wild weekend in Madison, Wis.

Kane’s actions came to light after a Deadspin.com article featured pictures of an apparently intoxicated Kane at a Madison bar and detailed his activities during several Cinco de Mayo parties.

As of Tuesday, Kane hadn’t been charged with any crime in connection with his activities during the weekend of May 5, according to the Dane County (Wis.) district attorney’s office.

Joel DeSpain, the public information officer for the Madison Police Department, said a sergeant ‘‘had contact’’ with Kane on May 5 but said his actions didn’t warrant a citation or an arrest.

Yeah, I wonder if we can borrow him for a presser or two?

Really? NJ has averaged 31.5 shots per game so far in the playoffs.

NJ had vs FLA in 4 wins:
38,27,42,36 = 35.75 shots on goal a game

NJ had vs PHI in 4 wins:
35,31,43,30 = 34.75 shots on goal a game

sure looks like the way to beat NJ is to lower that amount:

last 2 NJ losses: 26 SOG & 21 SOG

Teams that lose often have less shots than the winning team.

doesnt matter what the system is. If you get guys to the net to screen the goalie you can score goals. Even against teams that play a defense first system like the NYR.

Ottawa gave New York fits by cramming every forward around the net and then firing in the puck from the point. If it didn't go in, then the forwards fought it out with the defenders to try and put it home.

yep. the old saying goes go to the net, good things can happen. if the Devils can get those shots at the net they will have a good shot at winning. They arent going to beat Lundqvist with unscreened shots from the slot. This isnt Bryzgalov NJ is dealing with.

I've been hearing a lot about the Kings' speed. Are they really that fast, or are they just in the right spots? On the top 6, I could see maybe Kopi, Carter and Williams as being fast guys. What about the rest of the team?

They're certainly aggressive. When you're up 3-0 in a game and you have three forecheckers attacking within/below the faceoff circles, you have to commend their killer instinct.

But to answer your question, no. They're not necessarily faster that other teams.

No, they're not.

When I think about speed the first teams that come to mind are:
- Toronto
- Edmonton
- Chicago
- Colorado
- Vancouver

LA definitely has some fast players but as a "team" they are not fast.

when teams play shut down Team D & limit NJ's shots, they usually beat NJ.

a formula the Flyers could not figure out, as they 'had no idea' as to how to beat NJ

The lack of offense was more troubling than defensive lapses.

the lack of offense was likely due to NJ having the puck in the Flyers zone as much as they did, while piling up 36 shots a game in 4 wins

I'm not quite sure what your point is. That New Jersey played better than the Flyers in the games that they won?

Thanks. I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something when I watch that team. I hardly think of speed when I think Penner, Richards, Scuderi, Stoll etc. I guess teams just tend to look slow when they're getting dominated like Phoenix was.

Stoll looks incredibly fast whenever I watch the Kings. Penner is Penner, Richards is Richards.
I don't think the Kings are a faster team than any other in the league, but every player seems to be in the right spot all the time. Their forecheck is just amazing. They've looked unbeatable for a few months and I don't think that's gonna change when they have to face the Devils, which are a light version of what the Kings are doing, or the shotblocking, bore-them-to-death Rangers.

Imagine if they literally keep the team as is for next season. I could see them beating anyone, any time.

Every off season teams get better though. Boston basically did what you are saying and lost. Even after winning the cup you need to find ways of improving your team.

Man I never really paid much attention to the LA kings fans in the stands but are they always so apathetic? It just seemed weird last night how uninspired the fans sounded. Maybe it was the broadcast but it reminded me of Sunday service and people sitting in their pews like empty vessels. Apart from when they score and some other random moments they seem pretty lame considering how good the team is. That western laid back thing is def not my style or Philly's for that matter. Maybe if they win the cup they'll actually do the wave...
