It would be impressive... if they used their bare hands or any other method that put them on remotely even footing with the animal. Using a 30 caliber rifle from several hundred yards is pathetic.
To Voracek, I would disagree about availability. Almost anyone is available, but my definition of available basically means "there's a trade out there that I would accept" not "We can and should move this player"... there's nobody on the Flyers that is completely unavailable with the potential exception of Giroux due to contract, age, production, etc.

Most have shot down the idea pretty quickly. I would consider Stewart on this team if they had the room for him, but certainly not at the price of Voracek.
Holmgren sounded less than enthusiastic about Voracek in his after season address. Bill Meltzer also Has intimated that he could be a tough resigning. Would you trade him for Chris Stewart? I know Stewart had an off year but he is a two-time 28 goal scorer. I think he would be very successful, like 40 goal scorer successful, next to Giroux.
Stewart should be available as a free agent this off season. From what I understand, St. Louis is not going to qualify him. Why trade Voracek for someone you can essentially get that won't cost you a good roster player.

Really. That would be crazy by St. Louis. He is definitely worth something. I can't believe they would let him walk. I would imagine the flyers would be at the top of his list due to his friendship with Simmonds.

I would, but obviously that trade never gets offered. That's my working definition of untouchable, but yes, Couturier is right there with Giroux as the most valuable assets on the team.

I haven't read through all the posts... that said, I think some people forget just how young Voracek is... like Hartnell, Jake joined the NHL early and is only 22 and won't be 23 until mid August... Looking at him he looks so much older and he carries himself in a more mature manner than one would think a 22 year old would.
He has great potential and much talent that I believe he has finally began to show more consistently since joining the Flyers... He has outstanding puck control and skating which he uses to quickly gain the Offensive Zone and is hard to force off the puck. I believe he has to learn when to dish off the puck earlier -- although I suppose it could be he the reason he doesn't is because he seems to usually be too far ahead of his line-mates haha -- I think he will learn in time how to better use his talents to set up players... although he does get his fair share of assist since he is so involved with the puck in his shifts... I agree with those that say he has to learn how to finish better, but I believe he will in time... Again, I think we at times forget his tender age when we see his years in the NHL and his mature manner.
I wouldn't break the bank on him... and I don't think he will try to hold Homer up... but I would make all the effort I could to re-sign him and move him only in a clear longtime upgrade at a spot the Flyers need to improve, which to me means D-man or a much better two-way forward.
If Stewart were not a lazy, uncommitted player, I'd agree in a heartbeat. However, he's not, so at this point the only player I'd trade for him is Shelley.

Glad you think so. This was not one lazy year. This was just another in a long series of lazy years.
I'm not saying Wellwood is anywhere near as talented. I'm saying I'd rather have a team with a player who gives it everything he has every time he's on the ice than one who could be so much better but doesn't give a damn. I don't want that latter player anywhere near the Flyers.

Back to back 28 goal seasons in his 2nd and 3rd year in the league for a power forward. Thats pretty good in that most PF don't produce like that till later in their career.
