*OFFICIAL* Peterborough Petes 2012-13 Season Thread
Petes season kicked off on a positive note this past weekend with a very good rookie camp and good showing from some of our 2012 draft picks: Cornel, Maguire, Stefano and Tierney.
Petes don't need Schoenmakers. Robinson is good but I still have Varga over him in the depth chart.
As do I, Dont think he will sign unless he gets guaruntee'd minutes. (USHL). And I would rather Ritchie or Boucher for the top line I just thought Schoenmakers balanced out the rumoured Sudbury trade a bit.

Makes sense but like you said even if they do acquire Schoenmakers I would still put Ritchie on the first line over him.

Where did you hear Robinson was headed to the USHL?
Along with Robinson and the Tierney defensemen, I also liked Caruso and his poise with the puck. He's a smaller defenseman but at the listed weight of 186, he showed some grit and moved/shot the puck well. I also liked Racine, reminded me of a more physical version of Marchini.

Agree with Caruso he has a cannon of a slapshot.. But I have to disgaree with you in the Racine thing.. Didn't stand out too me. Was more impressed by Stefano.
Just curious why you would think Robinson is considering NCAA.
Last season Robinson was called upon to play games when the Petes were de-railed with numerous injuires but he turned it down because he wanted to keep his NCAA that's what the rumour was anyways and it makes the most sence, do you have any other information for us? If you know otherwise...
He must not have been offered a deal that was worth jeopardizing his eligibility. If the deal was right and he had any intention of playing in the OHL, last year was a great opportunity to negotiate a deal with a team in need. Don't know that the situation this year at training camp will be any different. May have to consider alternatives if this signing doesn't happen.
I too am curious if there is any confirmed interest from the NCAA in Robinson.
He was rated as a top 60 selection in his draft year, but let it be known to every OHL team that he has interested in the NCAA, and the NCAA was interested in him.
