Habs Playing in Memorial Cup: Finals on Sunday, Tinordi vs. Bournival + Ellis
Memorial Cup starts tonight in Shawinigan and I thought we should get a thread going to talk about the four prospects the Habs have playing in the tournament. Morgan Ellis and Michael Bournival are playing for the host Cataractes and the past two first rounders, Nathan Beaulieu of the Saint John Sea Dogs and Jarred Tinordi of the London Knights are also going for the Canadian Junior title.
Sportsnet.ca has a live video feed but it seems like they don't have announcers or anything, I'm actually quite disappointed in the quality of it right now
Well there's the draft thread for that. This is really going to act like a GDT for all the games since I doubt we get many posts in here anyway.
Kind of sad actually, considering this is supposed to be a site to discuss our prospects... Even more so, when you consider its arguably 3 of our top 5 prospects playing.

Like what I see from Ellis so far.
Yeah. I wish we'd have more people in here discussing the games too.
You all know how much I like Ellis. Yet, he will have, like I keep saying, to gain more agility and have faster feet. Will have to work on his first steps.
All the blood, damn. Did Kabanov receive a shot to the face?
He got hit with a puck in the face.
Ellis looks great in this league but yeah, he does have a lot of work to do before becoming a good NHL player. Thats fine tho, looks good for a 4th round pick
Ellis playing well so far. I haven't really seen Bournival so far....
Bournival was invisible in the Q playoffs too. Is he possibly injured? I don't expect him to be an offensive player but it's disappointed to see his clutch reputation not carry over, the way it has for Holland and Tinordi. Don't want to make a knee jerk reaction but at this point I'm more curious to see Holland in the AHL.
Not giving up on Bournival though, he's as fundamentally sound and hard working as they get.

Bournival isn't the type of player to stand out, good speed and works hard, scores ugly goals.
He was at the net and provided the screen on Shawinigan's goal
Best player so far Chaput, without any doubt. Everytime hes been on the ice, he was dangerous. Liked Lesieur too, played intelligent, used his speed and was responsible defensively. My Task for next period: concentrate on Reinhart. Didnt notice him enough in 1st

To me he seems off. Saw him a couple times in the playoffs and he looks hurt, like he has a bum knee or ankle. He's lost a full step, I thought maybe it was fatigue but they ahve been off a month and he still looks a step slow tonight, I have a hunch we'll hear he was playing with an ankle, hip/groin or knee injury after the tournament.

He is solid with the puck, but defensively he reminds me of Redden, not overly physical for a big guy.
