I miss Betts so much, him on the PK was incredible.

The bruins were already the lowest scoring team in the league and they lost their leading goal scored Sturm, their best offensive player Krejci, their best Dman not named Chara, Seidenberg and Mark Stuart so it's not that surprising. Also they had a rookie goalie because Thomas had a hip injury and Lucic was playing like crap due to a high ankle sprain.

Their games weren't as one-sided as LA dominating Phx (and Chi/Nsh to a lesser extent).

So it's not gonna happen, luck's run out.

Outside the opening period of game 7, I felt MFL played very, very good in the Boston series. He usually came up with the saves when we needed him to. Can't say the same about Boosh (who was garbage the entire year and was the main reason we even seeded so low).

Boosh played fine against the Devils and it's not like he played terrible against Boston.

He was also pretty good for most of the year when he wasn't injured. He got let out to dry for a solid month while the team was in its "Terrible" phase and he was often one of the best players on the ice. It's a shame to ruin good Boosh performances since you never know when they'll dry up for a while.

A lot of it was variance too. The better team can easily lose 3 or 4 games in a row due to bad bounces, etc...

lol at the DK excuses.

Yeah losing one skater caused you to lose 4 straight including coughing up a 3-0 gm 7 lead.

They were already playing without Marc Savard. Losing Krejci meant they had only Bergeron to provide NHL-caliber play down the middle.

You show me a team with one decent center, I'll show you a team getting ready to get swept in the playoffs. That's exactly what happened to Boston, it just happened to occur after they had built a series lead.

- The Krejci/Gagne swap
- Leighton playing well in place of Boucher
- the Bruins not being a very good team in the first place
- the Bruins choking

Unfortunately for the OP, some of the reasons for the Flyers comeback play for the Kings, and PHX doesn't have the offensive firepower PHI had in '10.

Sorry dude.
True, but the coyotes have a great goalie with 3 shut outs and a good defense, so you never know.....

I thought it was pretty obvious that Michael Leighton carried the Flyers in that series

Well, the first 2 games in Boston were both very close, so we weren't playing that badly. Game 3, we got rocked at home. I was at Game 4, and the desperation of wanting to stay alive carried us. I also think Gagne's return was a spark. Game 5 was when Boosh got hurt, but he was playing well, and I think we were winning when he got hurt. Game 6 we got outplayed but Leighton played well, I think everyone remembers Game 7.

You're right, my mistake. He just didn't hold up very well as the series went on, so I forgot he was even out there.
