#1. It's a modern D2. It really is. It has that "My God i just spent 4 hours playing' feel to it.
#2. The multiplayer is no longer a PITA. You don't have to setup games with friends, have everyone join at once. You see a friend online playing? Click 'join game'. That's it. Want a friend online to play with you? Click 'invite'. Want to play with strangers? Make game public. Everyone gets individual loot, so no fighting over pieces.
#3. Missing a nice rare shoulder? There's a public AH where you can spend your gold (or real money, if you are into that sort of thing).
#4. It's blizzard. Everything about the production quality of the game is top notch. From the soundtrack to the cinematics, everything feels like it has a high level of polish on it and that alot of work went into making each class fun and there is enough randomness in it to keep things interesting.
My advice: buy D3. When Torchlight 2 comes out, buy that too. When most $60 games gets you 15 hours or so game play, D3 gets you hundreds of hours. D3 is probably the most fun I've had playing a game since the first bioshock. Definitely the most engrossing. And if you can find the collectors edition, it has a light up USB soulstone to corrupt your PC for all eternity. Totally worth the extra $40
What really bothers me is that in a game where you can choose to play single player you still have to be connected online. Screw you and your servers, let me play.
I have defeated the Prime Evil, the lord of terror reborn. Now, onto nightmare mode.
I just hit level 30 on my Witch Doctor at the very end of Act III. I play with a pretty tight-knit group and we've been staying ahead of the curve as far as gear is concerned, so we haven't really encountered any real challenges our last two chapters. I personally haven't died since the Butcher, but I'm pretty sure that streak is gonna come to an end once we hit Nightmare tomorrow.
The game really is a ton of fun. Worth every penny for me
Been a crazy week +, haven't not been on the boards for that long of a stretch in a long time. Exams and senior week have drained me and consumed all my time. I'm still drunk though from Senior Ball last night so I suppose that's somewhat of a success. It all ends tomorrow at graduation with Jeanneret as the speaker. Pretty pumped for that.
The weather looks like it will be nice for a night out with the family at the Red Wings game and for Brandon and his elementary school band to play the anthem.
Although, I wish I was going to the Rhinos game.........
Just finished my first training/shadow session at the Human Society, not doing what I had asked/signed up for. After 8 hours of manual labor in the sun and then working out for an hour, the last thing I want to do is walk undisiplined dogs for 2 hours. Alas that looks like it's what I will be doing, better than nothing.
Today, I scheduled a telephone interview for a job in Cortland. Interview is Tuesday. Should be interesting. I really want to get the hell out of here.
