Yeah, next year he's going to get crucified if he is making that bread, is healthy, and is lousy. Excuse dispenser is running low on paper.

JVR is gone me thinks
just listening to holmgren during those post season press conferences, it seems
holmgren is a bit perturbed by JVR's injuries all season long
i'm thinking he'll be moved before draft day

That would make Philly look like a horrible place to sign a contract to FAs. The 2nd year in a row a guy signs a long term deal only to be traded before it starts?

I am sure there will be plenty more. And for playing through a torn stomach muscle, I guess Matt Carle didn't do so bad.

So what do you guys think about this now, seeing the jersey series? Does it make more sense, were the flyers racked with injuries or did they just get beat by the better team?

All I know is, JVR played 4 games or so and got injured again (or was injured before and didnt want it to get fixed). Really hope JVR doesnt become an injury prone player. Thats what, 6 different injuries this past season?

I'm wondering with JVR is that the injury he reportedly had mid season that would require off season surgery?

All I hope is, they all get fixed up and 100% (or almost 100%) for the start of the season.

It doesn't change anything. Richie and Carter had the all too public reputation and JVR is beginning a reputation of being injury prone and not giving a full effort.

What does that tell you? The team holds people accountable, if you aren't all in, you will be traded, simple as that.

You are wrong. JVR has had a torn labrum since 15 games into the season.

Yes to both.

I don`t see Bryzgalov on the list, but I`m sure he was hobbled by his foot injury.

You can be injured without needing to have surgery to fix it.

A lot of these guys are rest and rehab candidates. Still hurts to play on it and can limit your play. I'm thinking there are a lot of guys - almost everyone - with that situation.

I'm lookin' at you Jags, Cooter, Brzy and Harts especially.

Jagr had quadricep issues. Couts hurt his knee or leg and came back not 100%. I'm pretty sure Talbot hurt his shoulder or ribs vs. Pitt but, again, probably not surgery. Grossmann's knee recovered enough to let him play so he might not need surgery on it. Hartnell's foot was bad but it might not have been broken.

I think the list helps explain a bit why the D didn't have the ability to outskate the Devil forecheck. Timonen and Carle were playing together, both needing surgery. Grossmann was coming back from a concussion after his knee injury. There just weren't enough healthy bodies to get through a very good NJ team.
