He will probably get the award even if Varlamov outperforms him tomorrow. Simply because some player on a team in the final has to get a top award. Plays great though, nothing to take away

he and chara are the best in their positions on wc. were it not for them i dont think slovakia would be playing in finals. regardind the post above from what i have seen varlamovs norm is a few soft goals per game so i dont understand how he could be considered best

I'll go as far as giving the tourney team

Thoresen-Malkin-Popov
Nikulin-Chara
Laco

Although Thoresen and Popov play in the same position...

Strange to see the best goalie of the tourney be Slovakian, as it was allways our achilles heel.

My vote goes to Laco.
(and after that Varlamov beats him into Final...)

Only 2 goalies that are even in the running. Not a high standard of goalkeeping this year

He didn't cover himself in glory today, but really there were no obvious choices this year. Good for Laco.

Well, i think the Slovaks had maybe the best team defense and their work in front of their own goal was just so solid that Laco looked better than he actually is. But he played a great tournament too so nothing to take away from him.

I think Varmalov is another serious canditate but obviously he was playing for a very different team.
