So about Kreider's play...

He's been a revelation. Simple as that. He's the top 6 forward this team needed at LW.

He's very good. He could be a 25-30 goal, 50-65 point player next year or the year after.

The big four Atlantic division teams have so many bright young players and stars in their primes right now, it's amazing. What a division. Really doesn't seem fair that the big four teams have to play each other all the time!

Kreider is kinda like a mix of Erik Cole and Max Paccioretty. Both the good and bad, but moreso the good.

He's going to be a very good first liner IMO.

Can't believe you are STILL crying about this. The Rangers didn't break any rules. Get over it.

So he burns off a year of his EL contract by playing in the playoffs, right? Sorry if this has been stated in the thread. Skipped from page 1.

Even the Islanders have some bright players.

Yes. He signed a 3 year ELC (based on his age) and burned the first year by playing in the playoffs. We needed him for depth. I don't think anyone thought he would contribute as much as he has.

He played in 15 games. He just earned a $175,000 bonus today for playing in his 15th playoff game.

Lol at fresh vs ZERO NHL experience.

It doesn't happen more often because it's a huge risk to play a kid like this in the playoffs. Plus the team has to eat a whole year of his contract to do it.

His success is due to sweet ice time. Ice time he has earned. This is where Torts shines. He plays the guys who earn it....

Pretty sure he had a scholarship at BC and I think the Rangers are footing his bill for this playoff run. I think he's just staying at a hotel for now.

Pretty sure the team covers that as part of the player per diem

He's also probably crashing with one of his teammates right now

All told he has made $300k in bonuses these players (he had bonuses at 5 games and 10 games played)

Those guys are 4th liners, and they have to play. You can't have a team of snipers. Sure I'd like to have a deep enough roster to where we don't have 5 4th liners, but this is the roster Torts has been given. Problems only arise when Torts plays these characters over guys like Kreider and puts them out in offensive situations, which he hasn't done lately. (The last time he did was game 6 against the Caps, and hey coaches can have bad games too)

And FWIW I think Mitchell's been very good in the playoffs when he's not getting PP time.

Yep. Mitchell is easily the most underrated player for us recently. He's just the whipping boy along with Boyle.

There are enough snapshots to prove that Brodeur takes up as much or more net than Henrik and that his shoulder pads and leg pads are just as big, pads maybe not as tall but everything else as big or bigger. But its all Devils' fans got left. There's shots where Henrik looks like a skinny lil rake in comparison.

But Devils fans hang onto promo shots like the bible and Marty in old gear to pledge that he doesn't wear anything in comparison.

The difference is, us Ranger fans don't give a **** what Marty wears. Since Henrik came here, we usually win against him.

**** I actually like Marty, and his non-butterfly style.

By that reasoning, players who were injured all year shouldn't be allowed to return for the playoffs either. Wait til next year son!

To all these New York fans who are saying that the only reason Roomtemperature is complaining about the Kreider NHL debut in the playoffs is because he's a devil fan. You know he could make the same assumption that you guys don't have a problem with it because you guys are Rangers fans right. I'm just saying, not choosing any sides.
