We had enough PPs to win the game, but didn't capitalize. The coach instills the PP system, so he takes responsibility when it doesn't work well.

The coach didn't give the team a good strategy to deal with Slovakia as well. As for our captain, he lost us the game by making a naiive cross ice pass on one of our PPs. He even admits he's the reason we lost.

Also, I think Blatak made a ridiculous attempt to get the puck off the slovak player when Plekanec gave it away.....just dire.

That only shows he's a good captain IMO. This can happen to everybody that a cross pass is stopped by the defender on the PP. Mira Blatak has as big part on that goal as Plekanec has. The fact that we scored only 1 goal cost us the game much more than that mistake. + Kovar didn't have the best day either.

Together with his play and attitude through the whole tournament, I don't think having Plek as a captain did hurt the team in any way.

Many Slovak fans see Suomi similar to Slovakia. About same population, about same hockey success and about same love to alcohol Seriously, after Slovakia is out of tourney (there were many occasions in last years), many slovak fans jump on Suomi bandwagon.

I guess you make a good point. But it's still a mistake a player of his quality shouldn't make. Nevermind, it seems like we really want bronze and that's very pleasing Yeah Kovar wasn't the best, you're right there.

I still prefer Rolinek as out captain though.
