King Henrik, King Felix, and King James. It all bothers me since they haven't won the big one yet.
the problem here that the non ranger fans are unaware with is he has had this moniker for a long time and it is also a spin off of king henry as well as it has nothing to do with winning nor is it a comparison or mockery of any other goal tender in the league.
he is the best goaltender we have had since richter and when it is all said and done with he will probably be the best goaltender the rangers ever had and because of that the ranger fans feel he is "the king of the garden", " the king of manhattan ".
the only people who read more into it then that and take exception to that are non ranger fans and they are just gonna have to learn to deal with it.
and please don't compare hank to james because he is a modest. humble, class act and has personally never layed claim to anything.
I thought that was his nickname since Sweden, am I wrong? If not is it possible that Larry Brooks gave him that nickname? If not him, who, anyone know?
Sometime early on in his Rangers career (2nd season?) he was referred to as "The King of New York" because he looked so much like Christopher Walken (OK, that part is a lie). Not sure who it was that started it. Anyway, it stuck.
