Quicks shots against numbers are lower because he's played in less games.

LOL again. See above. This is like the regular season thread in reverse. It's like bizarro world.

True, but wouldn't that mean you guys are doing the same thing? If you feel Quick deserves the Vezina, that means you think Lundqvist has been the better goalie in the playoffs.

Same thing goes both ways.

It is pretty amazing, huh? When it was Quick in that situation, so many Rangers fans discounted it. Now that it's Hank, they want it to mean something. Come on guys, which one is it? You can't have it both ways.

Lundqvist played in 26 1-goal games in the regular season.

Quick played in 39 1-goal games in the regular season.

Who discounted 1-goal games?

I never discounted the Kings' anemic offense or Quick's ability to keep them in games.

I discredit the competition Quick faced compared to what Lundqvist faced.

That's unfair. Lundqvist is an amazing goaltender and I believe the best in the world right now, but there have been quite a few games this postseason where the defensive system has simply been so good that teams are not getting quality chances vs. Hank. Yesterday wasn't an example... but still.

Hextall in 1987 as well, and that was with Messier, Propp, Gretzky and Kurri all deserving as well.

To be fair like 3 of the 2 goal games were empty nets.

Vezina, Conn Smythe, Cup, AND Hart, in Hank's case, you mean

Lundqvist hasn't. The only bad game I can think of on Quick's part was Game 1 against Phoenix when he allowed a goal from the red line and a bad wraparound. That was a case of him being bailed out by his offense.

Lundqvist definitely has. I don't remember the exact game, but it was in the Washington series.

As a Ranger fan I have always been impressed with Quick. I have always thought he was underrated and I hope he continues on this pace next season. However, I would be okay with him taking a 2 week vacation starting right about......now.

I think that has to do with Henrik playing 3 more games.

If anyone actually believes that Washington and Ottawa are superior teams this season than Vancouver and St. Louis then they need to ACTUALLY watch hockey

I think he's let in a few goals he'd like to have back, but hasn't had an overall bad game. I think you're thinking of the game he let in a goal by Mike Green in the third period that was the game winner (game six I think) but he wasn't bad overall in that game

I was always under the impression that the best team wins the Stanley Cup. Not the best goaltender or best player. If the Kings beat the Rangers (if the match up even happens) or vice versa, all it will determine is who was the better team.

I've never liked comparing single players when winning the Stanley Cups. It's one reason Ovechkin has been criticized when comparing him to the other elite players in the game (where is Ovechkin's ring!?). The bottom line, IMHO, is that Ovechkin never played on a team good enough to win the Stanley Cup. Plan and simple. Toews, Kane, Crosby, Malkin, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Lidstrom, etc, have.

Teams win and lose. A concept that gets far too overlooked by sports fans because we are obsessed with ranking individuals.

What Quick did this year was cute. Henrik has been playing at this level since his rookie year. It's not even a contest, Lundqvist is a better goalie and the best one in the league. Quick will have to replicate this season's success for a few more years before he can even hold Lundqvist's jock strap.
