yes!! Darcy does watch the games. He and Ehrhoff were our best pair down the stretch. Hopefully he can keep up his solid, but unspectacular play.

Cool. Nice cap hit, serviceable depth guy that every team needs.

Good deal. Probably foreshadows the end of the line in a Sabres uniform for one of Weber or Leopold. My gut tells me the latter will be a secondary or tertiary piece in a trade this summer.

nothing wrong with having depth, I'd have no problem with McNabb starting the year in the AHL, theres no reason to rush him and i'd prefer Weber over Brennan at 7.

maybe Leo or Weber gets moved in a package, but i'm not counting on it happening.

I think Weber gets moved. He hasn't shown the development that the team has hoped for and Leopold is a big minute eater for Ruff.

Love this signing. He had great chemistry with Ehrhoff. No risk involved as its only a one year deal to prove himself to be on this teams top 6. Looking forward to a full season with the HOFF. I agree with many other posters, I believe Darcy is going to package our picks+d prospect for a top 4-10 pick most likely. I do not think anyone in the top 1-3 will trade or the Leafs IMO.

Your right nothing wrong with depth, but there is something wrong with 4-6 mill tied up in a bottom pair.

Love this signing. Great Depth guy and lets the Sabres focus their attention where they should be with getting a quality Center.

For me it's not the money it's the years. He's still got two years left on that deal and, though the cap hit isn't so bad. He was a pending UFA so I'm sure that gave him some leverage but not as much as Sulzer apparently.

To bring this back on topic, I don't think you should ever give depth players 3 year plus deals which is one of the reasons why I love this Sulzer thing. If he can't repeat his successes from this season then who cares, he'll be gone next year. If he can, win. If he just settles to be a decent 6/7, just as good.

My work mtg cancelled this AM, so I furtively log in to check hockey, and read of Sulzer signing. Awesome news. Played great with fellow German. Excellent contract.

I agree Weber is movable, and may be moved, but #24, #3, and Sulzer will all be UFA after this coming season. Will be interesting to see how well McNabb progresses to handle the minutes. Maybe Darcy moves Weber just to give McNab more NHL ice time this coming season so Darcy can determine what moves he needs to make to replace or resign one of those 3 UFAs in the 2013 offseason.

Weber hasn't improved in a few seasons. Maybe Calgary wants a reclamation project for their rebuild?
