NHL and buying preseason tickets from Europe

Dear NHL-fans,

This list of questions is mainly for the NHL-fans from Ontario and Quebec (Canada), but I hope I am forgiven to post this question in the discussionboard.

I am from Europe and I will travel to Ontario/Quebec this coming September from the 11th until the 4th of October. I want to visit a NHL-game during that time, so the last months I have been searching for tickets for games on the internet. I reckon there will be only pre-season games during my visiting period, but I dont mind that all. It is just that I have noticed that the schedule for the pre-season games is not announced yet.

These are my questions:
- Has anyone got any experience with buying NHL tickets, while living in Europe?
- When do they usually announce the schedules of the preseason games?
- What other Canadian Icehockey games are worth visiting and are scheduled in september?

Thanks in advance,

Niveus

I've bought tickets for ~10 NHL games from Europe, only two games in Canada though. I have no idea when preseason games are scheduled, but just keep an eye open for the teams you want to see.

Some of my tickets were bought thorugh official sources, like Ticketmaster, and some through sites like StubHub. StubHub tickets are usually more expensive, but sometimes it might be the only way to get them. From Europe you should be able to buy E-tickets on StubHub, meaning you can print the tickets yourself.

So, in your case I would do this:

1 - Keep an eye on the teams you want to see
2 - When the schedule is realeased, try to buy tickets through the official soruce
3 - ...if official source not possible (game could be sold out), buy at a place like StubHub.

You can also go to that team's board on this forum and go to their ticket re-sale thread. When the tickets are sold to their STHs, I'm sure some of them go on HF and would want to get rid of their pre-season games.

The schedule is usually released in mid to late June, IIRC, and I believe this includes pre-season games. It may not, but in any case those games wouldn't be released before then.

I'd do this. Forum members are likely to give you a good deal and some extra hospitality.

Wouldn't a stalemate in the CBA negotiations affect the pre-season games as well anyway ?

Buying tickets from Europe

Niveus, it is a new year, I know, but I am wondering how you ended up buying NHL tickets in Europe. Specifically, I am interested both in the Rangers and the Knicks, NY teams, for when I visit. Can you advise me please. Thanks.
