Rucinsky appreciation thread

Thought i'd express my feelings on rucinsky. it's a big loss for our team, and it's a guy that almost everyone overlooks. This season has been devastated by injuries, but yet he's had great stats that most people don't even know about.. 52 games played (16G 39A 55P)
His 55 points also tied the most he had in a season (96-97) in Montreal. Well its a shame and I hope the league reviews that slash (which could have as easily nailed him in the face).

i love martin rucinsky's game and am sad to see him hurt again. he contributed a lot to the team this year and i'm sure a lot of people appreciate his contributions. i don't think the rangers will struggle without him though...they didn't last time he was hurt. however, his experience could have helped once the playoffs roll around

Good thread, Rucinsky is my favourite Ranger and has been severely overlooked this year.
He has played with pain most of the season and he has done a good job on both ends of the rink. He will be missed.

Well, lets see how the kid performs in his absence... Rucinsky has been one of the few players we;ve been able to win without. Mainly because it gives a more skilled forward in Prucha a chance to play.

but I for one will miss Rucinsky a lot. He should have been on the 3rd line and PK all the time, cause he fits that role real well.

Well hopefully Prucha will go back to the first line. He is almost invisible on the third line.

IS THERE A CHANCE OF RUCINSKY BEING BACK FOR THE PLAYOFFS?

well its not a very serious injury... a broken finger usually heals 4-6 weeks, but it is on his shooting hand. So, he might be back pending how far we get in the playoffs, or he might be back earlier if he's allowed to play with some sort of protective device.. who knows

Broken fingers are not serious but his finger may have been broken in several places which would require several months or even surgury to heel.

I think Ruca should be back for the playoffs; a month to 6 weeks is around how long that type of injury usually takes to heal. Plus he will still be able to skate while he rehabs so his conditioning will be pretty good.

While there is no denying the fact that Ruca has played quite well when he has been in the lineup, I still feel that he is a bit redundant and the team would be better served (in both the short and long terms) by having Prucha playing in his spot. Which finger did he break by the way... I hope it's not his Philly bashing finger

He's one of my favorite players, and he will be missed. Prucha will pick up the slack, and we can only hope he's back for the playoffs

<------ Reason why I picked Ruca for my avatar. He will be missed. Hopefully he's back for the playoffs.

I like Ruca, but...

the Rangers have done quite well without him all season long. His absence opens things up for Prucha. Look forward to him being back for the playoffs...but replacing Hossa, not Prucha.

Yeah, I like Rosie. He's done a fine job for us this year. I really doubt that he'll be back with us next year though.

I heard it takes a month to heal the hand, if all goes perfectly...but then he has to get back into game shape. So I would say it's a minimum 6 weeks.

Probably more correct. I'm just relaying what I got on my phone ticker.

Yeah, I saw a similar story. I'm sure they didn't factor in getting into game shape.
