Dubinsky Will Be Our Matteau

Im calling it now, i wanted to make this weeks ago, even before the playoffs started

this guy has taken alot heat this year, but i have a hunch he will score a big goal, will it be game 7 overtime, i don't know, but his story and the way things are shaping up i think he will come up big

its the same feeling when a goalie makes a great save in overtime, the other team is probably going to score minutes later

hes a homegrown guy, trys hard, hes been battling it all year, now is coming back from injury, plus its always a 3rd liner who scores the big goal

cally would be the player i most would want to score, but my gut says duby will score a massive goal before this playoffs end

I have a feeling if there is an OT in game 7 this playoffs, majority of the fan base will be unconscious in the back of ambulances...I guess that doesn't change the fact that Dubi can score that big goal

If anyone will be our Matteau, it's Derek Stepan. Otherwise it doesn't fit.

I say any player with a 2 syllable last name will be Matteau. Unfortunately Dubinsky is 3 syllables.

Is Dubi close?

Does anyone know if Dubi is close to returning? Would love to add some fresh legs.

Not worried about his timing, he hasn't scored much this year anyway. But, he brings more to the table than just scoring.

IIRC he was cleared for contact at practice, but he has been out for long enough that his conditioning is weak and im sure hes got some rust. id say we will see him towards the end of this series and definitely the SCF...assuming we make it

God I hope he plays next game. No one hates the Devils more than he does.

Boy we could be using Avery right about now! Yesterday would have been perfect for him since the game was over in the 1st period.

It's more speculation on my part but if you notice the way he plays vs the Devils, Flyers, and Islanders you can see hatred there.

i agree with this.......I've always liked Dubi. And even with the crappy season he had, I would have never guessed that we would be missing #17 this badly. I have no reservations that he would have made a difference in a couple of these games against the Devils. He's always thrived in these "Rivalry" games imho
