I'm pretty sure most high school plays cost at least 2 dollars. Two seasons ago, you could literally get Nets tickets for 5 cents on Stubhub before fees.

If Henry or the Mexican national captain were that great, they'd be playing for Liverpool or Barcelona or AC Milan or somewhere else other than New Jersey.

It's just the way it is.

It's not like the KHL where Radulov gets paid a ridiculous amount of stay out of the NHL. MLS is inferior talent and cheaper contracts. There's really not much of a reason to play here unless you can't handle Europe, with few exceptions like Landon Donovan who are focused on popularizing the sport here.

I mean, if the MLS got Henry or Beckham 10 years ago, it probably would have been an eye opener. But instead, those guys basically come here to retire.

The last 5 minutes of NBA playoff basketball and the college basketball tournament are really the only basketball worth watching.

Henry was playing for Arsenal and Marquez for Barcalona and both are more than capable of still playing there. Both chased the higher pay checks. It's clear you don't really know what you are talking about though.

In the limited experience I have, that may be the worst part to watch. Especially if it's a ~5-8pt game. Losing team chucks up a 3, misses, winning team gets rebound, foul, timeout, winning team sends the ball into play, foul, free throws, chuck a 3, make, foul, free throws, etc etc etc

you're welcome

Now, in regards to hockey: the biggest thing for the Devils in my opinion for this game is to get that first goal, and to get it in the first. Its been a small sample size this series, so I can't totally go on the "the team that scores first wins" thing. But the Rangers haven't played too well from behind this series, and I doubt they've been too good in that regard all playoffs. Get a lead and wear them down with the forecheck.

I'm talking from a spectator point of view. Kids everywhere in this country play soccer. It's practically the easiest sport for parents to introduce their child to other than baseball. Playing soccer is certainly popular here in the states. It's watching soccer that's not.

Me too. I'm not crazy about football or baseball even. If I'm at a buddy's house, and he's got football or baseball on I can pay attention to it. basketball I've got my eyes off the TV. Texting, or messing with my phone. Trying to talk to someone in the room or the something!

I can watch baseball unless it's one of those 18 pitch at bats that seem to stay 3 and 2 for that long with 13 foul balls.

I've never watched soccer really, but I can keep my attention span on it.

Basketball is boring because scoring plays aren't very exciting. And they don't stop the game. A team nets a basket, then the other team passes it off from their end zone. The celebrating of a goal is what makes hockey and soccer fun to watch. In baseball, the different ways of scoring and other elements can make those plays exciting.

Baseball and soccer bore the hell out of me. I can respect what an athlete you have to play soccer. I understand you have to have some skill to play baseball, though I don't believe you have to be an athlete. I just can't watch either unless it's the World Cup. Football also bores me unless I have a rooting interest. I have less than zero interest in basketball.

In any case, you have to have more skill and be a supreme athlete to play hockey, which I think is what this thread is about

I disagree with everyone who said _____ sport is boring. Maybe I'm weird. I don't find really any sport boring. I either enjoy watching it, or I don't know the rules/what is going on. That's really the only two ways I classify them. Stop being closed minded.

Not finding something exciting is not being closed minded. I played baseball when I was a kid and it was really fun. I know the rules. I understand the strategy. It stills completely bores me to watch.

Soccer is a sport I never really played, so I honestly don't completely understand the game. I just have no affiliation to any team until the World Cup starts. I can watch that soccer. I still don't find it terribly exciting, but I respect it as a sport.

Football, again, is something I played. I understand the rules, I just don't find it exciting to watch; only to play.

We just booked out summer family vacation to Seattle and Vancouver. Got tickets to see the Sounders host the Galaxy (had to go SH route). Supposed to be an awesome atmosphere out there. My youngest son, in particular, is a huge soccer fan (he plays at a fairly high level ... the other two are licensed referees), so he can't wait.

I grew up having season tickets to the Cosmos. It's great to see the MLS making strides.
