To say we are long overdue for a scoring explosion assumes that we deserve one in the first place.
I never understood this line of thinking. A team deserves what they earn. If the Rangers score five goals tonight, then yes, they deserve it.
Just like I believe the team that wins four games first is the team that deserves to move to the next round. I also believe the better team always wins, but let save that for the summer.
On to tonight:
Today is my wife's 30th birthday. We're having a quiet dinner, then I am off to the Garden.
She isn't happy about this per se, but she understands. That is why she is awesome. I owe her.
Will tonight be another rope-a-dope? Will the boys come out flying? We will find out. I am anticipating a nasty game.
I do think whoever wins tonight will move on to the final round. I also believe that team will win it all.
I know the Rangers are tired...the Devils are tired too. The Rangers have unannounced injuries...and so do the Devils.
THIS is championship time. Make it happen...NO excuses!
WE were the better team all year, and we should be the better team now. Our goalie is miles better than theirs, but he can't do it on his own. MAKE IT HAPPEN RANGERS!
Going to the Garden tonight, first playoff game at the World's Most Famous Arena
Another pivotal game 5, Rangers 1-1 in these games so far. Would always feel more comfortable going up 3-2 rather than down 3-2, but I have full confidence in this team to at least force a game 7 if they have to.
They really need to come out tonight and actually play NYR hockey. Possess the puck, win one-on-one battles, be the first to 50/50 pucks and win them.
Most importantly, take care of the defensive zone and stop getting pinned back there.
The way its been all year. When the Rangers have something to play for and they know it really counts, plus having the home crowd pumping them up, they come to play.
Their opponent is waiting. Its been destined from the start.
Win tonight, finish it off in Jersey, and lets get to the series that means the most...
