I'm no Chicago fan, but I don't see any need for Ribeiro. As of now, goaltending may be the only thing preventing them from getting another cup. The core is there, no need to add any more big names, unless it's a #1 netminder. Should the Blackhawks trade future assets like that, it should be for a goalie. I'm too lazy to check their cap situation, but I imagine taking on Ribeiros contract would hinder their possibilites of getting an upgrade between the pipes.

You could get Ribs, waive Emery and sign someone like Harding or Vokoun (I'm aware he may go to Lokomotiv) to push Crawford to the bench if he can't rebound. Cap space is not an issue. We can make one big move and a couple lesser ones. But, dumping Frolik to a cap floor team is very doable and very necessary, just doesn't fit in Chicago.
