Now, however, it’s not as much about whether the Rangers can kick it into a higher gear against New Jersey, but, as Brian Boyle told The Post yesterday, “I don’t even think we’re where we were … we just haven’t played that well.

“A little bit of it is a confidence thing too,” said Boyle, who simply must be better. “When we’re all going, it’s easy, but it’s been a little bit harder lately.

“Every guy needs to get back to what makes us successful.”
This is bang on.

I read Brooksie's article just now: listening to this while reading makes it MORE inspiring:

I normally don't like his articles, but this one has me pumped. I pretty much just yelled out Let's go rangers in the middle of my office. Can't wait to lose whatever voice I have left in me at the Garden tonight.

The Brooks bashing is ridiculous. He is the most entertaining Rangers beat writer by a country mile.

This, in particular, is a fantastic article. Its the exact thoughts Ive been having throughout the series.

I know nothing is over yet but I feel now is a great time to say this

No matter what, win or lose, I thoroughly love this team. I am so blessed to be a fan of such a wonderful team and I want to thank them for an incredible season.

No denying that..it has been an amazing season, and we have a really bright future ahead of us, that much is certain.

But with that said..I DO NOT want to lose this series to the Devils!!

I sort of feel the same way. Its nice to know this team has a future and a window to compete, which wasnt the case when we made it this far in '97.

That said, these opportunities are precious - just ask the Penguins or the Bruins who thought they'd be here. The Rangers have the opportunity to get to the Cup going through the 8,7,6 seeds in the east and the 8th seed in the west. Its going to leave a bitter taste in my mouth if this is squandered.

I read this with "Hearts Afire" from the Rocky IV soundtrack in the background done purposely because I read the first4 post before I read this article.

Ready to go even more now.

I understand the sentiment, but losing to the Devils at this stage will still be awful. We're six wins from the Stanley Cup, we're the best team left, we have the best goalie, and all we need to do at this point is win our home games and we are the 2012 Stanley Cup champions.

Yes, everyone will be a year older next season, but it is very difficult to get back to this point even if you are the better team. A lot can happen, and we need to take advantage of this opportunity NOW!!!

LET'S GO RANGERS!!!

I'm pretty sure Torts plays that in the lockerroom before big games.

Right on. That's really it in a nutshell; these kinds of opportunities do not come around every year no matter how much talent your team has. Just ask the Canucks and the Pens who I originally picked to meet in the SCF. That is why we have to suck it up and take care of business by winning our 2 remaining home games in this series(assuming we lose at the Rock on friday).
We need to get this thing done come hell or high water.
Come on guys, just ****** win!
