Sit Rupp. Who Gives a **** about hard work when it leads to NOTHING!
Well given Torts played him for 6 minutes last game, while trailing most of the game, clearly makes him a leading scratch candidate when Dubi returns.

Although, I do agree it should be Rupp.

Tied for 124th in plus minus. Good on power play. Nothing at even strength. That falls short of great to me.

So:

a: Dubi might be likely available for finals if we make it?
b We sit out Mitchell in that case.

Dubinsky suffered a lower-body injury that cost him the entire second-round series with the Washington Capitals, but he has practiced four of the past five days. He also exited Wednesday's optional morning skate early while forward John Mitchell remained on the ice with the healthy scratches, a sign Tortorella is going to swap the pair.

bizarre. did i miss Zuke getting in the lineup or something? with Dubi in, that just means Bickel at forward can be scratched.

Hagelin-Richards-Gaborik
Dubinsky-Boyle-Callahan
Kreider-Stepan-Zukes
Rupp-Anisimov-Prust

If its just Dubi then I want to see:

Hagelin - Richards - Gaborik
Kreider - Stepan - Callahan
Dubinsky - Boyle - Anisimov
Fedotenko - Rupp - Prust

The top 3 lines have shown glimpses of chemistry time to time. If/when Zuccs gets back in the leave the top 2 lines and make the bottom two:

Dubinsky - Anisimov - Zuccarello
Fedotenko - Boyle - Prust

I like some of that, but I really think there should be something:

Anisimov - Richards - Gaborik
Kreider - Dubinsky - Callahan
Hagelin - Boyle - Stepan
Fedotenko - Rupp - Prust

I want to see what that second line can do together. It seems like those 3 could forecheck and get scoring chances all night long. The LW on the first line can really be any of Anisimov, Stepan, Hagelin or Feds. Likewise, Boyle can drop down to move Prust up and Step to center. I think we need to move things around and get some people to play in a new environment. God knows they aren't clicking as they are now.

Zuke is not in. And that is a horrible 2nd line.

Seems straightforward enough. I'd consider swapping Anisimov and Hagelin; I think Arty could produce with Richards and Gaborik. He does work well with guys who take up space, though, so Dubi and Feds seem like good line partners.

Yeah really the guy is responsible on both ends of the ice and ACTUALLY lives up to the salary he is making.

I'd like to see Richard/Gaborik/Callahan and Dubinsky(if he plays) start living up to their salary this series

I'm missing how the salary aspect impacts line selection in the ECF.

Artie has been opportunistic at time but Torts has been giving him a lot of **** throughout the playoffs. Some of it may not be fair--as playing him on the right wing on occasion is putting him out of his element IMO. That being said Artie is more of a skill guy than a grit guy and grit is important especially if your on the bottom lines. He's gone back and forth between top 6 and bottom 6 but he's only got 15 shots in 18 games--that with being blamed for some defensive lapses is kind of why he's in Tort's doghouse IMO. I think as in Gaborik's case Torts thinks he's capable of more than he's given.

I see your point, well than how about he remains in the lineup because he has more points in these playoffs than : Callahan, Hagelin, Stepan, Boyle, Kreider, Rupp, Fedotenko and Prust.

Also the fact that he and Kreider are tied for the highest shooting percentage on the team

You keep him in.....

He's been good.

Im not expecting big numbers from him. As long as he remains responsible and puts the effort in. Some points will come for him naturally if he does that.

Its Gaborik, Callahan, and Richards that need to wake up now.

Arty was great in the first 3 games of the series. Especially in the 1st game, one of the best players on the ice.

And yet people are trying to lump him in with everybody who has been invisible.

It still seriously upsets me that Arty's leash is so short while Boyle's continues to get longer with Torts, even though Boyle has been garbage since the Ottawa series.

The only thing associated with AA I'm upset about is the little ice time he gets.

Dubisnky was pretty good tonight......was strong on the puck. Picked up an Assist on the Cally goal. I was happy with his play on his return. Lets see more Ice Time from him and bigger role next game

Dubi just missed putting in what looked like a pass to him from someone on the point in the 3rd, thought he had it, and jumped out of my seat.

Thought he was solid tonight, especially with this being his first game back. I'm seeing a Dubi goal Friday night.
