According to Mario Langlois (CJMS) - Crawford is a very serious candidate for the job.

Anyway, I guess Bergevin won't name his head coach before the memorial Cup is finished as well as the semi-Finals in the NHL.

I expect an announcement before the Cup Finals series.

Expected, but unfortunate. He'd be the runaway leading candidate over anyone who's been suggested with the possible exception of Lemaire.

Vancouver is a model organization for a reason.

I like Marc Crawford so I wouldn't be upset if he was named the next head coach

It does sound like he already has a job lined up away from coaching...

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that Blues Assistant Coach Scott Mellanby will depart from the organization to explore other career opportunities.

“We thank Scott for his hard work and dedication in our organization over the past two seasons,” said Armstrong. “He is a true professional and we wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors.”

“I would like to thank the Blues organization for giving me the opportunity to coach in the National Hockey League,” said Mellanby. “After two years of coaching I realize my passion is in the hockey operations department which I would like to pursue. I have enjoyed my time here as a player and as a coach and wish nothing but the best for the Blues and their fans.”

I would give Groulx a shot before any of the others as well. Also Gerard Gallant.

Not saying I want an inexperienced guy, just saying I'd prefer them before anyone other than Crawford / Hartley.

This made me lol.

If it has to be someone from the list I'd say Hartley, or Crawford.

I said from the list of the 4, or 5 names. Crawford, Hartley, Carbonneau, Therrien and I forget the other name.

I doubt very much that Bergevin - a rookie himself as GM - would hire a rookie coach...

But, if he has the guts to try....

1-Roy
2-Groulx
3- Martin Raymond
4- Pascal Vincent

Marc Crawford is a great coach, the only weakness is his approach on goalies, but with Carey Price being your number 1 goalie, the weakness is no longer there.

AV on the other hand, be glad that he is no longer available.

Whatever coach gets hired, lots of ppl will hate the choice, so at this point just hire someone and get on with it.

That's a real dumb way to deal with the the future of your franchise. Do you even think before you click the Submit Reply button?

Betrand Raymond said that Michel Therrien was in vacation in florida and Bergevin went in florida to meet him. He also said that Denis Savard, a guy that Bergevin has a lot of respect for, told Bergevin to go after Therrien.

Michel Therrien might be our guy.

In his last year with Dallas, his team went 42-29-11 in the western conference, with a very average roster. I'll take that kind of disaster.

And he was fired-never mind his record
Which means nothing since he was fired
Must be some reasons he was canned again-
And he had solid netminding
If you like him so much go hire him to coach yourself and the stars havemoretalent especially offensively than habs
Crawfordlast 11 seasons--- one playoff series win!!!!enough said
Stars. Newiendyke didn't think Crawford was thecoach to take team tonext level-- looking at hiscoaching history he was right- dontneed anothermartin
