I really dont think that was an intentional knee by Brown.
If anything it was a bit late, definitely not a knee. I don't think Phoenix has anything to complain about, Doughty got a penality a few minutes before, usually in OT it's "no hold barred".

Agreed, their shoulders hit together. That whistle on the offside was a little late too.
Today Phoenix players are talking about the refs helping the Kings, Yandle said "I know they wear the same jerseys as the Kings, but they didn't have to play for them tonight".

Yet, if this was a montreal player on the receiving end, 50$ says nobody would be reacting like this.
Don't get fooled. He's a lazy player that happens to be surrounded by great players. Some stupid team will heavily overpay for him this summer.
All of this started because of Lowe when he offered that dumb contract to Penner just to prove a point. It's not Penner's fault he got that terrible contract, he was never a star to begin with. But he sure is stepping it up this post season cause the last few seasons have not been that good

He was good with Edmonton his last 2 years there...144 GP 53-49-102. For whatever reason he never seemed to click in LA...84 GP 9-14-23 but he's been a bit rejuvenated in the playoffs. Career average is 23-21-44 over 82 games.
I'd have no problem offering him 2 years at 5.5-6 mil or 1 year at 2.75-3.5. I think he'd be a good fit with Gionta and Plekanec until Gallagher LeBlanc Kristo etc are ready and add a lot of size to the top 6.

he was overpaid the first 2 years in Edmonton, but the last 2 seasons there he more than earned it.

He wasn't brutal but the salary he was making should have been better but like I said that contract wasn't his fault and anyone, anyone would have done the same and sign

When you are the best player on the worst team in the league, it does not mean much. His career high is 63 points, his next best is 47. Obviously that one good season was an anomaly.
We could sign him, play him alongside Bourque and Gomez. The line that shows up 1 out of every 10 games.

They're not talking about him leading the team like he did in Edmonton but filling in the gapping hole the team has on wing after trading Cammalleri and Kostitsyn. Penner's average level of play is more than adequate to do that being somewhat intermediary between 13 and 46 as a player.
People are reading a bit to much into his failures on a completely dysfunctional LA offense this season. Playoff Penner is much closer than what you typically get from him than his regular season.
