I posted those Rinky gloves earlier in the thread. Someone in the aforementioned Daytona mens league (same one with the dude in the Flyers jersey) actually used them.

The young ladies in my house league with the pink stick tape, pink gloves and pink helmets had me shaking my big ol' head back and forth.

another girl had 'fragile' print tape on her socks. pfffft...

This thread makes me want to go out and get a tinted visor, a full set of matching Blackhawks gear and a Hawks versey with my name on the back and the captain's C on the front.
If someone actually took the time to chirp at me, Id just laugh at them.

Get yourself a plain black or grey pair of reebok practice socks and everything will be okay.
I don't really see a problem with guys wearing NHL sweater for pick-up hockey. I dunno, I guess I think a little different than you. That being said, you wouldn't catch me wearing either of my Habs sweaters, but that's just because I treat them like gold and I am kind of superstitious as to when I wear them (home jersey for home games and away jersey for away games- can't take it off half way through a game - except for wings/ribs).

I play with a couple guys who both wear their $250 Team Canada Vancouver Olympic sweaters during pick-up. They kinda look like idiots out there. I do, however, wear a Team Canada Bauer "practice" jersey that came free in a case of Molson Canadian from time to time, so I can't really chirp them.

I gotta say, Being completley decked out in Tampa Bay (or any other team's) gear is a whole different situation. I'd probably have a hard time keeping my yap shut with that one.

I went to a stick and puck the other day and there was a guy in full Sharks gear. I wouldn't do it myself, but I thought it was kinda neat.

I always wear NHL socks, usually the Avs. But I always just wear a plain jersey with nothing on it. I'm pretty terrible, so I don't want to stand out too much.

This year I got chirped by some of my pick-up buddies for having a few different "outfits."

I wear one of 5 jerseys (plain blue, plain red, team canada practice - free in a case of beer - a ball hockey jersey I designed the logo for, or generic Habs away coloured jersey - no logo- that I got for Xmas from my sister-in-law) with one of 3 pairs of socks (Habs Away, Wings Away, or generic black white & gold).

Too much? Sorry if I don't like stinking! Besides, there is less laundry to do this way.

There's a guy in my area who wears a Vikings Moss jersey and a yellow bandana that sticks out. Pretty weird. Don't chirp him though because he always sets me up for shots.

Lots of people let a lot of trivial things bug 'em.

We played a team who had a few mixed jerseys (that's common in these leagues), and one guy had on a tuxedo uniform. It was hilarious but he was a very good player. It didn't amount to much as we stomped his team, but he did make us have to shut him down. Unfortunately, with him went the whole team.

I've seen a few goalies with similar, looks awesome on the big chest pads. Everyone thought it was awesome.

Not sure about a player jersey though.

I like that jersey.

However...
when you have rules you are creating them to make yourself feel better.
You can't wear that, you can't eat this, that guy shouldn't have that are all rules you invent to keep yourself over other people when the fact is they are doing what they want and you should be happy for them.

Need a pinstripe suit uniform!

They're not rules, it's just that sometimes people wear things that make them look like tools for no real reason.

Of course it's trivial. Most of what is discussed on the internet is trivial.

Based on what I've come to learn about the general audience, you're not far off.

I thought it was funny as hell, and would've been a riot if the whole team did it. Kinda makes me want to talk my team into getting alternate jerseys

That's because they want to. Your rules thinks they shouldn't.
Enjoy
