FC's Final Ranking for 2012

We've have our scouting meetings a few weeks back, put together our final 210 list for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, and have released our final top-30 for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

We actually released it Monday, but we've been a little busy putting together our 2012 NHL Entry Draft Guide, so my apologies for being late on this!

Quote:
Rank / Pos. / Name / Team / League / Ht / Wt /

1). RW Nail Yakupov, Sarnia, OHL, 5-10.5, 189
2). C Alex Galchenyuk, Sarnia, OHL, 6-1, 185
3). D Ryan Murray, Everett, WHL, 6-0.5, 200
4). C Mikhail Grigorenko, Quebec, QMJHL, 6-3, 200
5). LW Filip Forsberg, Leksand, Swe., 6-2, 180
http://futureconsiderations.ca/yakup...king-for-2012/

We've got a full top-210 available in our 2012 NHL Entry Draft Guide for those curious what goes on beyond the first 30.

Curious as to why Dumba is all the way at #10? (seems low)

thanks

So for those rankings, the Flyers could easily pick up either Koekkoek, Maatta, Bystrom or Finn. Nice.

Maata at 27, would love the Habs to get him at 33.

That would be nice, Subban would be nice too at the #33 spot.

Interesting. It seems like Galchenyuk could be a great steal if he drops

Not interested in the least honestly. If his name wasn't Subban he wouldn't even be mentioned.

Can someone who follows the WHL explain to me why Colton Sissons is rated so highly? Honest question here, because his numbers really don't suggest he's got the high end offense to justify a Top-20 pick.

Numbers are such a small aspect to scouting.

Maata would be a steal at #27.

Well he is better then any other goalie prospect the Habs have. If they ever deal Price they need a #1 goalie coming in return, there is nothing in the ranks.

That isn't saying much, why not draft dansk or vasilevski? I don't see any plausible scenario where price would be on the table.

Right. But you didn't exactly answer my question of why he's rated highly.

Assume I'm someone who has never seen the player play, and am asking why Sissons should be a Top-20 pick. Explain to me why he's rated so highly, despite his mediocre numbers.

He's a top 20 pick because the forwards suck this year but some forwards still have to go first round.

Not sure I understand Sissons either. He's one of the older draft eligible players this year and his numbers have barely improved over last season.

Maybe he's a safe pick? Guaranteed 3rd liner? Seems like a boring pick.

There's a lot of talent in the top 10. It's not really even a knock against him. Many people have talked about the tier's of this draft and he just happens to be ranked in the later part of that 2nd tier (in my opinion) for various reasons.

I really like him, personally speaking. He's a leader, hard worker and Kelowna as a team was much worse this year than last. That plays a part in the offensive numbers he had, which aren't always the most important thing anyways.

Unrelated to the rankings, but there's a screw up in the Reinhart ad.

It's intentional to draw the eye to the contest

Thanks for the heads up!

Why in the world is Maatta so low... 27th really???

What don't you like in his game?

From a very small(4) sample of games he seemed like a very complete D-man with lots of upside.

Better question to ask scouting director Dan Stewart (@StewartFC) or OHL regional scout Sean Lafortune (@SeanLafortune). Both are better qualified then myself to answer your question.
