D'Amigo scores! 3-0 with less than 2 minutes! Marlies look to have this sealed.

D'Amigo just racking up the empty netter points, haha! Hell of a win for the Marlies. They came out of that first way too flat, but found a way to get out of it with a lead. Had some good bounces and just finished it off. One more boys!

One win away from the Calder Cup finals! Impressive win tonight, especially with so many of their top players out of the lineup!

He should make the Leafs on that ability alone.

How many times do the Leafs fail to capitalize on empty nets?

Desjardins estimates that about 40% of the game is captured by Corsi analysis.

only in toronto should someone be in the nhl based on their ability to shoot the puck into an empty net

Deschamps is very solid. He's been very good since joining the Marlies. Give him an other year with the Marlies with top 6 minutes and I think this guy could be a pretty good NHL'er.

He's got a good puck sense and is rarely getting caught coughing the puck up. Always chiping it in rather than carrying it in himself. Like you said, with some top six minutes and more time for seasoning, I also think he can be a good contributor.

and this helped us win that game?

if not for getting that defender into the leafs' line-up that night, disaster would have struck? like, we might not have made the playoffs?

all these little "benefits" are supposed to contribute to the overall good. so far, that's not happening. after 7 years. time to give up that schtick and let go of the myth.

He is putting up great numbers and is very safe, like you said. Next year he should have a ton of confidence. He's only 22.

Also, Mitch Hedberg is awesome.

How do you make the playoffs in one game?

Beyond that, if someone cannot see the benefits of having the minor league team in the same city they are either stubborn, ignorant, trolling, or all of the above.

That's probably because NHL defenders have trouble with Frattin's speed and strength.
