I don't even know what to say. I've never felt so ****** after a sports game in my life. There's no way to explain how I feel, just completely empty. I went from being so happy to extremely depressed in a matter of minutes.
Guys like Bickel are good stop gaps but after a while they get exposed. I just wish they played this way when they were down 2-0 in game 4- we probably would've won it.
Eminger did not look good last game, but Bickel looks like they pulled him out of the stands to play. Tim Erixon anyone? Maybe dress Mitchell and lets put Boyle on defense cause at this point our D is being overplayed (see Girardi and MDZ) and we need to stop rotating 5, but go with 3 pairs.
This is where Torts is a failure as a coach, we have played more games than any other team, but hey keep wearing down our guys.
Lundqvist is fatigued just like the rest of the team, perhaps even moreso considering how he is bailed this team out. He was bound to go through a rough patch sooner or later. Unfortunately our team isn't capable of bailing Lundqvist out, defensively or offensively, when he looks shaky like he did tonight.
I think you need to go back and re-watch the first period.
I watched it. We had quite a few shots on goal, a missed empty net by gabs and several other big chances. Devils had less than 10 shots and 3 goals.
I saw Lundqvist lose the puck after its shot right into his chest on goal #1 and let in a high-school-level-shot on goal #3.
Is it really that hard to call it how it is? He has been our rock all season, but he let this one go. Needs to come back strong next game, or we are are toast. If we score 3 goals, we should at LEAST be in OT, not losing in regulation.
As pathetic as that was, I was more upset with the last game then this one.

This is why (not this specifically but the idea) this game was so infuriating. SO many shanked pucks. SO many terrible plays. And can someone please tell Prust the Oscars were a few months ago?
Think about if Gabby buries that open net or if AA doesn't have that puck go off his skate. This game wasn't solely about horrendously sloppy play...it was about a plethora of missed and unexploited chances

Nope it was never connecting cleanly. Our forwards are too high in the neutral zone to receive them. They almost never have any forward momentum because they stay still at the blue line waiting for the pass.
The team needs to execute a 5 man transition with the D man dumping the puck at the red line. We try WAY too many plays from our corners out of zone. Its god awful.
People are blaming Del Z for his stretch pass but Torts WANTS him to do that. Why do you guys think there is always a high winger in the neutral zone? For stretch pass tip ins. Blame Torts stubborn system not Del Z.

that's it right there, every single night with that pass. you would think after it fails for the ten thousandth time, they's stop doing it! why can't they move the puck up the ice as a unit?
Biggest friggin game of the year and Lundqvist plays his Worst game of the year.
forget about the game...its over...now we gotta get ready for another game on friday night, that we need to find a way to get the win...i believe in this team, this team REALLY has gone through adversity all season and throughout the playoffs...we don't make it easy on ourselves....let's go find a way to win a game on friday playing rangers hockey for 60 minutes or more if necessary...we can do this!!!
Seriously regarding Lundqvist. I don't want to keep harping on this. Until he becomes more consistent. We'll be on the wrong end on the hand shake line. With him it's not if but when he has that game that leaves you shaking your head. Unbelievable. I never learn. When he puts up great performances I expect him to be the goalie that he can be. He never ceases to disappoint me with efforts like he had tonight and yes even last game.

That 3rd goal, he was positioned to make a save. Big time goalie makes that save. He better step it up next 2 game, or hes going to get that "Loungo-choke" label.
