It was because Hagelin made a 75% effort to get infront of him coming back from other zone. So if you were going to blame someone it would be Hagelin for not being in position and giving a half effort to get there.
In the end it doesn't matter though. We still didn't do what we needed to get the win. We had a chance to go up 4-3 despite that terrible first period and couldn't do it.
Nope it was never connecting cleanly. Our forwards are too high in the neutral zone to receive them. They almost never have any forward momentum because they stay still at the blue line waiting for the pass.
The team needs to execute a 5 man transition with the D man dumping the puck at the red line. We try WAY too many plays from our corners out of zone. Its god awful.
Absolutely their passing through the neutral zone is beyond bad. They can't hit anyone in stride. They started to pass better in the 2nd period but after the tie they went back to the same old bs.
