Hating Detroit is like hating the guy that you used to battle it out in high school with to get better grades (not that I ever did that), but turned out to be much more successful than you when they graduated high school (edit - almost forgot the most important part) AND they don't even remember that you exist. There's not a rivalry going on at all anymore, so why care.
And I would much rather Datsyuk win than JT. Not that I hate JT or anything, but Datsyuk is awesome and JT has a stupid face.
I think the rivalry is over. And I don't think anyone anywhere could possibly have a reason to dislike Pavel Datsyuk. The guy is a hardworking, team-oriented, classy guy who is thrilling to watch on the ice and is funny and kind off the ice.

Not really a fan of Datsyuk but I don't hate him. Henrik on the other hand a legit man crush.
Still hate Lidstrom,Howard.Holmstrom and indifferent about Bertuzzi. The rest I don't mind.
John Tavares is awesome so I will vote for him but Datsyuk is pretty cool too but it sucks that he plays for those ********. Any team that has Quincey and Bertuzzi on it makes me hate them.
Didn't you guys boo Duchene at your draft party when he got drafted? This might make me refrain from voting. Plus there is no way I choose JT over Lundqvist and especially Rinne if he does make it to the next round.

I absolutely despise Pavel Datsyuk for playing for the Red Wings despite being so damn likeable and amazing. The rivalry may be dead, but my hatred of the Detroit Red Wings was a significant part of growing up for me, and so will never fully go away, even if it's not shared by the players or organizations anymore.
Why would anybody hate Lidstrom? As Bob Cole has said, there may not be a finer gentleman in the league.
He's the last player from the rivalry era, just because he's good guy doesn't mean I can't hate him. I'm sure you and many wings fans despise Forsberg but would love it if he was on your team. Cole is senile now so...

I think Zetterberg is the only guy I can ever forgive for being a Red Wing (I'm part Swede). The rest of them I'll always hate.
And signing Bertuzzi and keeping that POS in the league is like frosting on the spoiled cake.

I still hate the Wings. But yea, the rivalry isn't close to what it used to be & chalk that up to the Avs going into rebuild mode and not being a powerhouse in the West anymore. The Avs vs Wings games today are more for the fans rather than the players IMO. No more hate on the ice.

I was in high school when the rivalry was at it's height and hated ANYTHING to do with the Wings. Uwe Krupp... I disowned him when he went to Detroit, lol
Deep down I will always hate them. I think the players on both teams respect the rivalry for what happened in the past, but there's no way it goes back to what it was in the late 90's. Those type of rivalries are rare and will be remembered in sports history.
