While I have been saying how this series is over, this is also not the same Devils team as in 94. That 94 Devils team would wipe the floor with this Rangers team.
Agreed. Some devil fans think that 94 team may have been better than some of the cup teams.
bro, he's right! Hank S#cked tonight! Biggest game of the year and he needed to play his best, and he s@cked! no excuses. he knew it too in the post game.
Ironically he's played less games then he's ever played in his career as a ranger, and he's still failed in the biggest tests of the season. He's made some strides, but he still hasn't carried a team to the cup like his
rival across the ice did.
Lundqvist not there yet. He's a very good goalie, but he's been awarded for things he hasn't yet accomplished.
This is a post I can deal with because it's founded. Other posts bashing Hank I have read so far are not.
BTW, for those of you who wanted to know what these boards would of been like in 94 read these pages here's your answer.
You take the cake, most reasonable post of the night. I agree with pretty much everything you said.
Agreed. This team has already outperformed any wildest imaginations at the beginning of the season. It's already learned to run pretty fast, but in the playoffs, these things take time. If we lose on Friday or Sunday, let's not forget how fantastic this season and playoff run was and I have the utmost confidence in this team for next year
I respectfully disagree. The Rangers problem on the PP has to do with entering the zone. If they did that, MZA would be a tremendous asset because his biggest asset is puck movement and distribution on the PP. If they can't even get in the zone to setup, MZA serves little purpose.
MZA helps tremendously with exactly the skill you're talking about.
He has the patience and calmness under pressure to hold onto the puck for an extra second and find the open man to get the powerplay set up. He also makes the right pass in the neutral zone / heading over the blue-line to gain the zone with speed and numbers.
I don't want him playing unless he's very close to 100% but there's no doubt he'd both help get the PP set up, and help us make a play to score a goal on it.

Also, I believe the Rangers are 5 for 14 in the series on the PP. 26%. Hasn't looked great, but they've had there chances.
Lundqvist surpassed a career high in total minutes played, including both regular season and playoffs, in last night's game. He wasn't sharp and he looked exhausted out there. People are too eager to throw the choker label on him when his play last night probably had a lot less to do with being some sort of headcase like Luongo and a lot more to do with being fatigued.

nah he's a headcase lol. no way was last night because he was tired. he's done this before. i'm sure he's tired, but last night i don't think that was even close to the problem. getting screened, defensive lapses, and 3 early goals caused by those defensive lapses. can't expect him to carry us every night.

I think he was weak on the third goal and maybe the fourth, but the first 2 were not his fault. Also, he was weak on the third goal in game 4, but that's about it. Let's stop this insanity about how Lundqvist choking, is tired, blah, blah, blah...
I just wrote myself a damn essay on my thoughts about this team. Somehow it made me feel better, and we're not done yet. Last night sucked, but it's time to move on.
what do you guys think about this... actually embellishing or was he just in a bad position... and what about the head to the net?
personally i don't think he dove. his feet were tight goether and he stepped on the net going backwards, but it's pretty clear that he shoved the guy's head into the net (albeit not violently... not nearly as vicious as the shea weber wwe--though that wasn't that vicious either)

look at where his feet are when he gets pushed though. they're tight together. there's no way he (anybody) is holding his balance like that. he went to catch his balance and stepped on the net, shifted his weight to that foot and fell back...
i thought it was a dive at first, but it's def arguable.
