well thankfully the Devils won. Pretty lopsided officiating, refs played way too much of a role in the game. Now hopefully the Devs can take it at home.

Did anyone else catch Coach's Corner? Cherry was very unflattering to Pierre McGuire. It was so surreal.

Had to do with him not moving from his commentating position between benches during a coach altercation.

Hard to explain, buyt you must see it. If I find the link, I'll post it.

Basically he is saying McGuire is ignorant and had no class because he didn't move away like Healy did. Some kind of vendetta I assume.

You just don't often see a media guy personally ****ting on another like that. McLean seemed to be okay with it...

Henrik Lundqvist giving up 4 goals on 16 shots was unexpected. However, the Devils were lucky to win the game even so.

McGuire was probably too preoccupied to notice it.

No doubt that was the case, but the vitriol spewed in Cherry's not-so-subtle manner was the oddity.

Doug MacLean and Kypreos on hockeycentral are usually worse than Cherry was tonight. Anytime McGuire has come up in a conversation (they try not to say his name most of the time) he's talked about with incredible disdain. Pierre is loathed in many hockey circles it seems. Media-wise anyway.

And I don't think its a rival network thing.

I'm not a huge fan of McGuire, but I wonder why he is the brunt of such criticism from other media types? It looks more like bullying than anything else, especially considering the sources. People with little credibility themselves...

McGuirre never called out players for wearing a visor or being euro. Also he wear a respectable suit and he's hired by a private television network TSN/NBC, he's not getting paid 6 figures with tax payers money for 15 minutes for work every week like DON the primadonna.

Cherry can take his 'class' with him and retire.

After having seen how nasty Tortorella usually is at press conferences I prefer having his team lose and seeing Tortorella make his hasty (and usually premature) exit to avoid follow-up questions. He's more tolerant of Madison Square Garden representatives because he has to be.

Derek Dorsett signed a 3 year 4.9 mil extension. Wonder if that will raise the asking price for Moen? He is a guy I'd like us to re-sign, solid all around player and good guy to have around the young kids we will be promoting the next 2 years. 3 years and 5-5.5 mil?

According to Damien Brunner's agent, Neil Sheehy, the Tampa Bay Lightning are "serious" contenders for his client's services.
"I would say Tampa is serious about Damien. I would say Damien is serious about Tampa," Sheehy said. He added that Brunner will likely sign with someone prior to the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and that "several" other teams are interested as well. He led his Swiss league team, Zug, in scoring last season with 60 points in 45 games.

Would be a solid signing for the Habs, hopefully Bergevin uses Diaz and the opening on Plekanec's wing and Eller's wing to help lure him here.

Some people are saying on the radio in my area (I get both Devils and Rangers coverage) that DeBoer insulted Tortorella for being short and being American during their little spat in Game 4. Pretty dumb if that's true.

I'm done getting excited about overage Euro prospects coming to North America and making an impact. If we sign him, great, another asset. If we don't, it probably won't make any difference in the long run.

Tortorella called him bald first & other things I can't type here. Sergio Momesso re-constructing the argument for us on TSN990 this morning was a real killer, they didn't cut out any swearing. Gotta love Montreal Radio for that!

It's adding a solid prospect for nothing. If Diaz is any indication he should be able to step in and produce in a support role next year. Probably a couple yaers more advanced than Gallagher Bournival and co. Would possibly buy LeBlanc another yaer AHL.
